You can fill in the diary in advance if that helps! Its the same as planning any normal meal, just a consideration that any meat in a pasta dish on a green day must be weighed as a HEb or synned, and that peas, sweetcorn and broad beans for example aren't free with a steak salad/meal so have to be a HEb or synned. I keep frozen mixed veg in the freezer to add to meat and potato on a green day and I keep frozen green/fine beans in the freezer to add to meat and potato on a red day.

I basically choose my day though and eat as 'free' as poss.

I think it will be 142gms, the same as cod or haddock etc.

Defrosted frozen fruit is free, just as it says in the FO book.

gpuss, thanks for your kind comments :o

My own theory on why men do so well is due to their metabolism and (lack of) hormones. We women have to contend with the monthly 'downer' even after the menopause and it does tend to mean that for one week at least, we don't lose weight.

pennylane - I'm very impressed with all that cooking, you put me to shame

you know when the fruit defrosts and there's always quite a lot of juice are you allowed that as something free or do you have to drain it away.

    Hi
I've just started following Slimming World, and I'm doing it online.
I understand what's free on a green day and what's free on a red day, as well as healthy extras and syns etc. I was just wondering how do you go about deciding how to eat, ie what to have with what on a day. How far do you plan ahead. I'm using the Body Optimise website, and can't find a menu planning facility, only a diary which you can fill in for today and previous days.
On top of all that, any further advice / tips would be most welcome!

My best advice would be to buy the magazine (there's a new one just out). They always have a 7 day menu plan and will give you loads of ideas on how to make up a meal using free food, HEs and syns.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

That juice is mainly water from the freezing process and so would be free I think.

I've had a bit of a hiccough this week! Friends Baby Shower last night and I'm afraid I gave into temptation and had a glass of wine, some of the buffet and some gorgeous toffee cheesecake!

Back on track today though. Had a friend & her 2 girls round and we ordered pizza for my kids and my friends, I had the left over shepherds pie (topped with mashed swede & carrot instead of potato) and salad!

So if I maintain this week I'll be well happy

Hi, I'm new to this, joined a group last week after having read all your ideas and comments, and looking at the website. Have been dieting for a month already on my own, so am not expecting too big a loss! I don't eat much meat so I'm doing green all the time. I need to lose about 3 stone, and I'd like to lose the 1st one quickly as I'm going away for July. I'm so impressed with you all, and the support you give each other.

Welcome Polly! We can't (and aren't) always good on the diet, but what we can do is help each other along the way. Glad you are joining the gang:j.

I'm having a bad weekend:eek: My husband is going in for surgery in a weeks or so and it means he won't be able to eat properly for months after. Naturally he wants to have a few nice meals out beforehand, and it's difficult for me not to join him. Going to try and get back on track now, but I've bad, really bad:o!
