If you chopped your Banana you need to Syn it . A whole banana is free, but as soon as you chop or mush it you have to count it - from memory, a small mushed one is 6 Syns
This seems nuts...isn't chewing it just the same as chopping/mushing it?
Can anyone explain this to me? I won't sleep tonight for trying to work it out!!!

i think it's because chewing sends signals to your brain that make you full up. if you juice it, blend it, mash it or puree it then you don't have to chew it so you eat more before you are full. i don't get why cooking it changes the syn value though. i suppose with some things it makes it softer so you chew it less?0 -
I made this yesterday and it only has one syn in it on a green day.
Packet of Batchelors macaroni cheese (1 syn)
4 small eggs
2 oz cheese (1 healthy a and 1 healthy b)
85g bacon chopped (1 healthy b) and cooked.
sweetcorn
mushrooms
seasoning.
Make up packet as instructions. Allow to cool. Beat eggs and stir in. Add the ingredients and 1 oz of the cheese. Top the quiche with the other 1 oz cheese.
I was very busy yesterday and was not able to stop for tea, so had it for a snack, lunch and tea. Very nice, but could maybe have done with a little pepping up, maybe paprika or some herbs, not sure.
If already posted please ignore. I know there is a quiche with the cottage cheese but somehow that ruined it for me  - you could also add some cooked potato to make it even more substantial!!!!! It is very filling. My son said he liked it very much so long as I left the mushrooms out!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
