TOBY'S MUMMY - i think most beans need a minimum of 8 hours soaking before cooking.also a good tip for eliminating some of the gassy effects of beans is to boil rapidly for 10 mins, drain, rinse and boil as normal in fresh water.bit of a faff so maybe farting is better!!!!!!!!!1

also i wouls just chuck the breadcrumbs on top as instructed and spray frylight on top, they should crisp up okay.

found http://www.cookuk.co.uk/soup_starter/butter-bean-leek-bacon-recipe.htm too. it would be free if you used frylight and didn't bother with the milk. i've made soups like this without milk before and they've turned out fine.

    the vanilla "custard" was delish.

i had a snack earlier of chopped banana over slightly warmed vanilla muller light instead of custard.

Found this on the website for the up and coming summer: Buy moulds and make your own ice lollies from strong sugar-free squash, or try mixing partially-defrosted mixed summer fruits to low-fat fromage frais with a little artificial sweetener for a Free alternative to ice cream.

If you chopped your Banana you need to Syn it . A whole banana is free, but as soon as you chop or mush it you have to count it - from memory, a small mushed one is 6 Syns

just thinking of larger fruits like pineapple. you'd have to chop them before eating them unless you were going to eat a whole one!!

well i had the butter bean thingy but would use tinned butter beans next time. i soaked them for 9 hours, simmered for an hour and then cooked in the sauce for 70 mins and some of them were still on the hard side.

With chopped banana you would have to slice through it with a spoon anyway or your teeth would slice through it. So, wouldn't that be the same as chopped??? I understand mushing even slightly as the enzymes start to be activated
