    hello again

i'm hoping someone can help me with as question (and suspect I will have more later too) Does anyone know if it's ok to buy normal beef mince and drain the fat off when you are cooking it rather than buying the extra lean stuff??

    TY :)

To be honest, Becca, I'd just go for the lean stuff. Though it's a bit more expensive, there is less waste to fry off and it's better for you (and tastes better too).

OK, I guess technically you are getting more meat for the money anyhow is you're not having to pour loads away :)

There is that - and you can never be sure you've got all of it. I tend to mix and match between the lean and normal (and the Quorn!)

    Are lentils free on green?

Yes they are and this is a lovely way to use them:-

    Lentil and Cheese Wedges
Serves 2 using 2 HEAs per portion for the cheese.

    8 oz/227g red lentils
    ¾ pint/450ml water
    1 large onion
    Fry light
4 oz/113g strong cheddar cheese, grated
    1 tsp mixed herbs
    1 egg
    salt and pepper to taste

Cook the lentils in the water until soft, and all the liquid has been absorbed.

Chop the onion, and fry in Fry light until soft.
Combine all the ingredients and press into a 9” sandwich tin lined with baking parchment.
    Bake at 190°C/Gas 5/375°F for 30 minutes.
Serve hot or cold, cut into wedges.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Had another good day yesterday, but my problem is exercise. The vet has said that it's going to be a while before the dog can go for walks again, so I will have to go without her. Trouble is, I feel so sorry for her and hate leaving her in the house, as she loves to go out, but I will have to get off my backside this week as I'm becoming a hermit:o.

Can you beg or borrow somebody's old pushchair and pop the dog in that to take her out for a walk. She'll appreciate the frsh air and being with you and you'll get some good Body Magic in as pushing a pushchair is harder than just walking alone. It'll be a good talking point for the neighbours too :rotfl:

can anyone answer this question for me please ?....
on a red day can i have a portion of new boiled pots(+skin+) as a heb and after i have boiled them, can i then pop them in the oven with fry lite ... as i fancy doing them with my gammon for tea.

Can't see if anyone answered this already, but yes, you can have the potatoes as a HEB with the skins on and roasting in Frylight is free so go ahead and enjoy your tea:D
