  • by the way,a mixture of raw eggs combined with other foods(that don't include pastry) and then cooked til set(however you cook it!) is called an OMELETTE !it may also be called a fritatta (with pasta) or a tortilla (with potatoes) or even a spanish omelette (as before) but NEVER NEVER NEVER could it be called a QUICHE!sorry but it's really getting to me now.surely calling it a quiche just makes you realise there's NO PASTRY IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!am i alone in my hysteria??????!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????:confused::confused::confused:

  • LAST THING! - AMIE399 -you could try using minced pork instead of the corned beef as a base, you'd end up with a kind of scotch egg type pie thingy.been thinking about it for a few days now actually but been too busy packing up glasses i never use to try it!hhhmmmmmmmm,i feel a cunning plan forming...............

    Morning everyone

Good luck to anyone with weigh in today. I am really trying to get back on track - I struggle with evening meals as the ones I've tried so far haven't been a great success, so I have gone back to normal meals with DH, but tried to tailor mine to SW.

Friday night, we had a Chinese takeaway (the first in ages) and I had a mixed starter as well as a chow mein, and put on at least 1 lb. Saturday we had an Asda curry (again with starters), so yesterday I started to panic (weigh in tomorrow), so was good and need to be good today, and if I'm lucky I will maintain this week :o

    Good Monday Morning everyone:hello:

Thanks Kelly and Welshnutta for the holiday hints - all the advice is really helping me to decide a plan of action and resolve to stick to it - I shall NOT come back heavier after sabotaging my weight loss. NO NO! (see I'm practicing).

I had my WI today (I do at home and enter the details online) and I lost 0.8kg, which I think is about 1.5 lbs:j . OK, so this was after all 'ablutions' so to speak and completely nekkid but I now feel slimmer and it's made me more determined!
I would like to get a regular 1-2 llb loss as then I'll be at target by end May or June, so I think I'll do some careful planning for the next 5 days.

    Have a good day

P.S., Kelly, I'm with you on the Quiche thing - it's gotta have pastry to be a quiche, no two ways about it.

This is what you should be doing, so carry on doing it :D Slimming World isn't about making 'diet' food for you and something else for the rest of the family. It's all about healthy eating for everyone in the family - so you can all benefit from the wholesome, nutritious food you're eating.

Don't worry too much about over-indulging for a couple of meals. You may well show a gain (or possibly maintain) but it won't be fat. It takes 3500 extra calories to put on 1lb of fat - that's over and above the 2000 calories you can eat to maintain your present weight (approximately). It's unlikely you ate that much, so any gain you may have is very likely to be water and the best way to get rid of that is to drink lots of...................you guessed it................ water!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Thanks Consultant

I know Peachy has been nagging about drinking more water, but it's something that I really don't do, so today, am going to be really good and drink lots and lots of water.

Doing a roast beef dinner later, so will try to resist the lovely roasties, but will have to have the proper gravy :o

Just had mushrooms on toast for breakfast, so that's only one HEB and a scraping of Flora light. Would like to have a red day, but I struggle with snacks in the evening on red, whereas on green, I love my Mugshots.

Had a sore throat yesterday, which has turned into a full blown cold today, so maybe all the nose-blowing will keep my water retention down :D
