    PLEASE someone help me!
my big problem is Sundays at the moment: i come from a tradition of Sunday being a day of celebration, complete with Sunday roast, pudding and cake for afternoon tea.

I can forego the pudding if I have enough main course but I really miss homemade cake for afternoon tea.

It's a major stumbling block for me: if I have the cake I go over 15 syns... if I don't have it I feel so cheated that the next day I eat 100g of chocolate!

I tried making cupcakes so I would just have one but the thought that 1 miserly cupcake is 10 syns is depressing.

I don't use artificial sweetners and my idea of cake is victoria sponge, not scan bran!

Sundays really stress me out in this sense. I sometimes wonder if it would be better to lose weight more slowly and more enjoyably by having Sunday 'off', not a binge day but one where counting syns doesn't dominate.

    Any thoughts?

is there anyway you can save a couple of sys each day, as you can pool your syns as betwee 70 to 105 per week. so if you cut down on syns other days you could have enough for your cake.
other option is to flexi syn, have your cake, go over your syns (but keep counting so you don't then go mad) and straight back to normal monday, this is on the slimming world website, for those occaisions when 10-15 syns won't do.

hope this helps you some, you have to remember slimmig world is a healthy eating plan for life, its not to make you miserable, so I hope you really do have your cake ad enjoy it, life's too short to feel miserable over a piece of cake!!!!!!

    Thanks 160.
The issue I have with saving up syns or flexi synning is that I still feel guilty about eating so many syns. Eating the cake feels so naughty!
I think I'm going to take this issue slowly and see how things develop over time.
Today I will have my cake and eat it. Not all day and I won't go off plan with anything else today. Tomorrow, the cake will go with DH to his office so it's not around for me to eat.
I'm not on a race to lose weight so I'd rather work out slowly how to do this for life rather than get so frustrated that I give up entirely.

Thats a very sensible way of looking at things. You could always use the sunday cake as your weekly treat and every time u think of slipping during the week, just think of the cake and promise yourself if you are good the other 6 days you will allow yourself to enjoy it guilt-free.

Or you could look at the SW website for low syn cake ideas? I think there are a couple where the slices are 4-5syns.

I did well yesterday, the thai veg stirfry was gorgeous last night, even the kids liked it! I helped them makes choc brownies and cookies without pigging out too :A although i must confess to dipping a couple of strawberries in the leftover melted choc bowl this morning

    GREEN DAY

So breakfast = bran flakes + strawberries (3 of which were dipped in choc). guess at 1.5syns each = 4.5syns?

    lunch = salad

dinner = quorn sausage casserole + mash + sweetcorn

**i hereby promise to eat the rest of the strawberrieds plain or with low fat yoghurt, not chocolate :rotfl: **
