Also if anyone has any good recipe ideas for red days then let me know please as i am running out of ideas and OH is getting bored
Hi , take a quick look through this thread , theres lots of recipe for both days , can you share any :D
  • whenever i try quorn mince my OH complains about how it tastes.. even if i cheat and dont tell him i've used it " yuk.. this bolognaise tastes like fungus" the first time we had it and i hadnt even told him. But like the idea of using it because i can still munch my way through lots of pasta and my fav rice.

Ah well.. will keep at it, i guess at some point he will give up moaning or just get used to it

i had this problem and my consultant sugessted mixing quorn with beef so you use a less amount of beef and can use either a HE or syns for the beef but as you'll be using quorn it will make up the amount of mince to your normal batch size but will mainly be free - OH didn't notice when i did this :rotfl:

I've made the AH cous cous from the packets and put it in the fridge but i don't think it tastes right like this. It says on the packet eat straight away but not sure about other brands/plain cous cous??

i buy Tescos plain cous cous and to add flavour as it can be bland i make some stock with bovril then add the cous cous to that instead of plain boiling water, it makes all the difference, then i just add the usual cucumber, spring onion, tomato and peppers (or whatever you fancy) and have it at work for dinner and it is lovely, give it a try ;)

my OH likes when i make things with the quorn fillets instead of chunks, i cut them in to chunks after i fry them (in frylight of course) but they just seem to be better texture that the pieces to us

CHARLIESMUM-step away from the chips , you've got that 2lb to lose , how many syns have you got to use up ?( standard size chips red day 27 syn:eek: , green 17.5 , try and decided what you fancy before you go .
If the pub have a menu , bring one home or when your there write down what you like on the menu , so when you get home you can check the syn value and write a list .
So next time you don't have to worry you can plan :T , on a lighter note have a drink for me  , peachy x
WE WILL GET YOU THERE MATE :A

Peachy, you are like our very own slimming police force :D

Ok, you have just put me right off the chips.... Looks like a jacket potato, and a diet coke. Mind you, I'm now on a red day, so could have a mixed grill.

Do the chips count if I pinch them off someone else's plate :rotfl:
