Hi jojo, I don't find slimming world too restrictive.
If I'm on a green day, then I can have as much 'free food' pasta, rice, potatoes and a limited amount of meat/fish.
On an original day (red) the meat/fish is free food and the potatoes/pasta is limited.
Bread and cereals are allowed, but in a measured amount.
Syns are there for the treats...booze/chocolate etc
I would not say the weight comes off quickly....but that isn't the idea....a slow steady weightloss allows your body to adjust. ~~At the end of the day, it has to become a way of life.

Morning all, well I have decided that from today no more chocolate for choccie!
Not even for syns my theory is that if I stop it all together I will in the end not want it, and if I can resist over easter with all DS and DH eggs about then thats all the test I need, also I have asked everyone not to buy me any.
Just a small hurdle today as DS has asked to bake, resisting the just baked goodies is so so hard so think I might go and get some of the Alpen light bars mentioned on here and feel naughty eating 2!!

Hi Choccie
How do you fancy a 'challenge'? I REALLY need to give up the choc too - i seem to spend all my syns (and then more  ) on it. So we could support each other to kick the habit? I had decided to give up choc yesterday but gave in to a hot-choc before bed last night. So today is a fresh day! I thought i might allow myself some guilt-free choc on a sunday if i have been good for the whole week - what do you think? Maybe total cold turkey would be better?
We have pick THE hardest week of the year to do it though  !0 -

I have managed to do 15 minutes on my exercise machine each morning and have increased to 17 minutes twice daily.
The morning one is not too bad but the evening one is a real struggle. I have other health problems which make it difficult to exercise.
I find a good way of getting through it is to put some upbeat music on loud, don't look at the timer on the machine and concentrate on the music and not the exercise. This seems to work and gets me through the work out fairly quickly.
My goal in to increase the exercise by two minutes each week.
well done, that sounds like a very sensible way to build up the exercise. don't forget that it doesn't have to be 'structured' though - simply a brisk walk to the shops/kicking a ball around in the park counts too.0 -
morning all
in a better mood today, resisted the chocolate yesterday, and was good all day.
had a yummy pudding last night, i really miss yogurt with utty bits in that you mix in, so froze an alpen light and then crumbled it over frozen summer fruits added a vanilla yogurt, was delicious, lol.
made rice pud last night too, so got 4 pots of that in fridge to tide me over the weekend for a snack.
won't be back now til tuesday, as out and about here there and everywhere, (who says we get a long weekend off, i'll be doing more than if i was at work!!!!)
see you tuesday,
big hugs to everyone

SW not going too badly.
Yesterday for tea i made savory rice and roasted veg which was lovely.
Today i've had cereal, will have salad for lunch. Going out for tea but determind to make sensible choices.
I'm glad summer is coming, i went on my first mountain bike ride of the year yesterday which was ace! 20 miles of off-road thigh-burning torture. It was sooo windy, i'm sure we did more miles than that just trying to stay in a straight line!
I have been building up my running lately too. Up to a regular 2 x 5 miles a week. Going to try fit 3 sessions into some weeks but that can be hard to organise.0 -

Agreed SW is a healthy eating plan - there's nothing you can't have it just depends on quantities - lots fo good stuff, little of bad stuff and bits inbetween. Its not a diet its a change in eating however it can come off quickly. The first time I did it I lost 3.5stone in 5months however I was being very very good and having only 5 syns or so every day (you can have up to 15). This time I'm having a few more treats so its coming off less slowly - but its still coming off!
Having second thoughts about job offer.........
