Colour Run Disaster

Sorry to ask, but in a mad rush, I'm going to the supermarket in 10 mins and have a problem I'd like to deal with fast.
I've just accidentally washed DH's favourite piece of clothing, a white t shirt, with all my darks.
It came out with a dingy grey look plus black splotches of dye in various spots and around the seams. The t shirt itself is thin, with a printed black and red pattern, and I usually wash on delicate.
I had some Dr Beckmann's colour run remover sachets. I used both of them, and it's removed most of the dingy grey but not the black splotches.
Do I shell out for some more? I don't really think it will work. Or does anyone have any other tips?
Thanks so much.0 -
If all else fails try a fairly strong solution of bleach
I know it isn't supposed to work and it is supposed to wreck your clothes but if it's wrecked anyway - nothing ventured nothing gained. It has worked on a couple of things of mine.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
we have a colour run disaster thread which should have loads of ideas for you
let us know what works and we will merge this later

I can't find the original thread, but I wanted to say thanks very much to the person who answered my thread the other day about a colour run in hubby's favourite t-shirt.
I have only just sorted it, but sorted it is. I ended up putting the bleach on the colour run directly with a toothbrush in the end! Never, ever thought it wouldn't go pink, as i left it on 30 seconds nearly, but it was sheer desperation. 2 applications and 2 washes later...shirt's almost as good as new and definitely wearable anywhere.
Thanks so much, I'd never have dared go near bleach without your help.0 -
T'was me, I think
I generally will resort to bleach if the thing is wrecked anyway.
It has worked every time, but not tried it on anything delicate.
Glad it worked for you.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Simply get your mum to wash them on a hot wash with a pink flannelette sheet and you can have delicate baby pink shirts!
Oops...
Thanks to all who've contributed to this thread & the others on colour runs, I got Dr Beckmann's colour run remover from Morrisons & it lightened them, then washed again on a hot wash with a Glo White whitener, and they are now light creamy coloured. I don't think DS2 will notice.
Luckily DS1 has black polo shirts in Yr 11 as the polo shirts he had before that had a logo on so the treatments would have affected the logo if I'd washed those as well as DS2's.0
