... Then I installed the free Avast which I think is absolutely great, it updates regularly as soon as an update is available,... I would never go back to AVG now....

I think I need this elsewhere but you guys seem to know what you are talking about (unlike me)! Sons laptop acer aspire 5520 (Sept 2008) went wrong Oct 2009 various things and now cant access internet at all and sometime wont come on at all. Is it the hard-drive, the motherboard or what? Now out of warranty and Tescos not interested (bought on CC)! I am loathe to write off £600 without a good try or a fight with the big guys! Any help greatfully received and please move if this should be elsewhere.0
