I have already given the beef to my neighbour who is a pensioner so no problem if I every get the vouchers she can have them as well,
I thought we were all entitled to our views but how wrong am I?????0 -
Well said Jellyhead
I was thinking the same thing as when I shop for my father he gets upset if items are substituted and finds it difficult to believe that some items are not in store.
If I were to say that I got him free shopping with vouchers then he would feel humiliated and like a charity case.
He has just got used to BOGOF - not amused when I first used the phrase! :eek:"This site is addictive!"

elona, he probably thought you were telling him to bog off, do you use that phrase where you live? :rotfl:52% tight0 -
Err... "Trespass" is a civil matter in the eyes of the law as opposed to a criminal matter so the Tesco Manager doesn't know what he or she is talking about..The police would not be interested as they have better things to do collecting revenue with speed cameras
In fact I am reliably informed by someone who works in one of these shops the police are not even interested in shop lifters these days unless you are "Ram raiding" in the middle of the night and nicking thousands of pounds of goods!The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0 -

Its perfectly acceptable to have your own views, but calling someone greedy and tight because they didn't think to use coupons on their aunts shopping is an unnecessary slight and attack on someone. You don't know the situation and in my opinion you have no right to assume and say that to Igloo. Even if Igloo had shared her coupons and used them on her aunts shopping whose to know that wouldn't have upset her as has been mentioned by other people on this thread.
Perhaps I'm sensitive about this because I had a run in with a sales guy at PCWorld who was trying to earn some commission by forcing additional products onto a laptop my husband brought for his Grandma, the sales man then had a go at us because we said she wouldn't want the monthly cover and he then insulted us and told us we were being tight by not paying it for her....how rude!!! She has more spare money a month than we do.
So I apologise if I was slightly ott, however I think we should be careful not to assume to much about people we don't know and make comments that can easily be considered hurtful. At first I wondered if Igloo had been a bit 'greedy' by trying to use so many vouchers but how can you call someone greedy when you don't know their financial situation. I used 15% vouchers for my shop today because I have minus money in the bank, I would have used more if I could have got away with it. At the end of the day tescos every changing policy does say (when they feel like it) that we can use vouchers up to the full amount of the shop so we are doing nothing criminal by trying to do so.
As an aside, my local Tescos has a new coupon rule which has just been put up in the staff room. They will only accept three coupons for products that have not been purchased, no doubt it will change again next week.
I hope you get a reply to your email soon Igloo.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Not only that but it doesn't matter if igloo is the meanest person on planet earth, it's irrelevant to the issue being discussed and no excuse for the treatment received. (Is the poster who raised the issue seriously suggesting that the manager was providing moral punishment for igloo's alleged meanness?)
Also, I cannot understand why those who think using more than an arbitrary limit of coupons is unacceptable aren't going apoplectic about the discussions taking place in the stoozing forum ...There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.
