How rude of you!!!! I can't believe what you've just said and implied, words can not describe how out of order you are!!!
I've been watching this unfold and I feel bad for Igloo and the way she was treated with her children. At first I thought well Igloo had been cautioned for using too many vouchers so although she shouldn't have been treated like that she did in some way cause some of the problems.
But we have since heard via email from Tesco, that you can use 1 voucher per supplier and can use vouchers for the full amount of your shopping and even get change back up to 99p! lol. So I believe the ultimate fault lies with Tescos if they made sure that all branches used the HO policy there wouldn't be any problems. If you can pay for the whole shop with vouchers then Igloo was well within her rights to use them and shouldn't have been treated like a criminal because some random manager decides he doesn't want to follow the HO policy. I thought that was the point of policies, some Tesco managers seem to make it up as they go alongSaving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Igloo
why do you feel they were in the wrong to take you to the office?
surely you wouldn't want this to happen in front of a store full of shoppers, and regardless of wether they were right in their accusations, the Manager felt you were in the wrong and in his position felt he was right to take you to his office to investigate,
If you had contacted HO and had an email from them detailing Tescos voucher policy, why didn't you approach the CS desk or Manager on your next visit and inform them of this?
why carry on using the vouchers knowing you had been warned by the manager but not giving him the info you had so that he had a chance to look into it and revise his policies?
why would the manager not believe you had your daughter with you? surely she was at your side when they approached you at the checkout? they are 6 and 4, I'd let £1000 worth of shopping disappear before I let my toddlers out of my sight!
not a newbie now: but still be gentle with me0 -
Edinburghlass wrote:All of a sudden from the words "the security man stood up and I felt threatened" this thread has leapt into the realms of fantasy of Tesco customers being detained against their will and assaulted and lets all sue Tesco and boycott them! I'm not blaming the OP here but the multitude of posters who have blown it out of proportion.
Now the w/end has gone past, have all those people boycotting Tesco because of this actually done so? Probably not because they will have gone to see if they can pick up a bargain or two after reading several other threads on MSE0 -
It seems like, with any luck, my personal coupon problem is now solved. I called HO today and had them speak to the store concerned. Again, nothing is quite clear or properly documented but I have assurances that I can use coupons up to 50% (which is more than enough for me) on my shopping. The coupons must be valid, unique* and Tesco must sell the product.
Unique would include coupons for different Nestle Cereals as they are unique coupons (ie not one per brand).
As I say this is slightly different to that often quoted, and I can only confim it for me personally.... but am happy. Off to Tesco now0 -

My aunt hasnt been well and this is the first time I'd shopped for her.
It wasnt my shopping so I didnt think of using coupons. It might sound daft but I just didnt think of it.
if you think I'm "tight" for not thinking of it then sorry.
Clubcard? She's never been to Tescos in her 85 years so if you think I should have gotten her one to give her her 11 points then there you go.0 -
i see this post is now just turning into more and more arguments agaist each other.
everybody has there right to there opinion on what they think.
as i said in a earlier post. i don't know if igloo was just going out and buying most of her stuff that had extra points on, i can see tesco getting a little upset at that, as she would be getting more vouchers back had 11000 points, she was warned at least once as well,so really she knew the rules in that tesco.
i know that somebody has had a email saying that no matter how much you buy as long as it is 99p cash they get you can pay for the rest in coupons. but that make's no real diffrence to us when tesco staff don't know that as well.
we also don't know if they asked for the tesco clubcard back at the tills ?
but she was taking into the office then asked for the card back and she refused, but that is tesco's and they can ask for it back at anytime they want.
lets also remember that everytime we pay for something and use are clubcard tesco know the way we paid for are shopping, maybe igloo got some kind of flag on her card ?
so maybe when paying for most of are shopping in coupons,we should not use are clubcards.0 -

No I am not out of order, I do not want to go into this but greed is getting something for nothing and keeping it to yourself, Can I ask a question ? if you got £20 worth of vouchers and were shopping for a pensioner would'nt you give some of them to her?
I would.0 -
