OS 6th March 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th March 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Well, let's start this again at the right time! Have been dozing on and off all evening (including earlier when I thought I had been asleep all night!) so probably going to be wide awake the rest of the night. Have put electric blanket on and hopefully the heat will help me get back over.

Kitchen very much ongoing and will need to speak to the fitter tomorrow about the flooring and the doors as he seems to have forgotten that they were part of the whole thing. Hey ho, will get there. Will get round to posting a link to photos in due course.

Looking forward to seeing DD, DSIL and DGSs later today and I know they will spoil me. Meeting up with a friend over there tonight for a drink so that should be good too.

Hope you all have a good day as I will probably now be out the loop until sometime on Saturday.

Hi GB - I've just found out what you did yesterday! Bless!! I hope you managed to get some 'real-time' sleep. As someone who has been through lots of kitchen fits I can sympathise! I absolutely HATE it with a vengeance and can't wait to get everything straight again. It's always worth it but, oh, what a nightmare it is! You'll love it when it's finished!

SMOKY - thinking of you and your family.

Well, I was up with the lark this morning; I don't mind because it gives me some guilt-free 'me' time.

I'm going to do my food shopping today; I didn't do a big shop last week and have been emptying the freezers, fridge and cupboards so I could do with a stock up. Heaven knows what it will cost because everything seems to have gone up lately.

Yesterday seemed to run away with me. I thought I'd have a couple of hours knitting before fetching DGS from school but I had so many interruptions that I gave up. DGS and I had a great afternoon playing games. He's great company even though he beats me hands down at everything we play. I felt like a bad Nan though because I hadn't had time to make cakes and he always looks forward to those. I've promised him some for Sunday when the whole family comes round.

Oh. well, I think I'll have a mooch on the comps thread - I haven't done any for about a week despite vowing to do an hour a day. It's no wonder I don't win anything!

Have a great day, everyone, and I'll call in later.

Morning GB, Mioliere, and anyone else who crosses follows

GB - I have just gone through a partial kitchen re-fit GB and my sympathies are with you. My doors have been replaced with Howdens ones and I am very pleased with mine. I had the laminate down on my floor from Howdens which looks like slate tiles, and have to admit I am impressed with the convincing look.

Smokybabe - I also cannot find any words, but send you and your family((((hugs)))), whether these messages help, or upset you, probably a bit of both, but be assured we are routing for you and DH.

I agree that yesterday also got away with me, mainly on here, but I think I have a cunning plan now up my sleeve for broadband.

    Have a good day. DG

SMOKY - have only just read the rest of yesterday's thread. Just want to say that my thoughts are with you and your family and I'm saying a prayer every day. It must be a relief to know that your OH is unaware of what is happening - that, at least, is a blessing. I wish there was something I could do or say to help; in fact, I know we ALL do. If thoughts could help, then there are plenty on here. Please try and take care of yourself as well, difficult though it may seem.

Lots of love to you, your OH and the children.

So sorry the news isn't better Smokey, hang on in there.
GB you did make me laugh, I thought is was only me who did silly things like that.
Today is interview day for Katy & she is a very stressed Eric, she's been up all night, she was ironing at 3 & smashing up icecubes at 4, I think she'll be glad when it's over & I know I will be.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All!
Been meaing to post all week, but somehow got distracted......
Going to Asda today to get the food for DD's engagement party on Saturday. Guess who's catering for 100? Cake from M & S tomorrow, hope they've spelt her name right, she really gets the hump if people get it wrong!:rotfl:

Had a rotten night, woke at 2.07, didn't go back till 4.20! Weetabix and hot milk seemed to help. However, I've woken up frozen down my left side. Arm and leg still move, but it just feels weird, all "wooden". Need to speak to my nurse I think.:o

Anyway, (((((((((HUGS)))))))) to anyone who needs them.

Have a great day everyone else!:T

    Morning

Sending you lots of (((( hugs )))) Smokey

Granny, glad to see you (again) today. Good luck with the kitchen, mine desperately needs doing, but after reading your threads, I might leave it a while

My car desparately needs the exhaust fixing, it's only a little car, but sounds like a tractor, so will take it in today. Luckily the garage is next to Asda, so will go for a mooch in there, and can always hit the charity shops :D

Hilstep, catering for 100, easy, 100 packets of crisps and lots of wine :D

Have a good day everyone x
