  • I tried it for first time, there was a lot of things with the yellow labels over the wrong price. Managed to get three blocks of blue cheese. Price on shelf was 6.47 price on pack was 8.80. Turns out it was wrong barcode on it, it was a stilton barcode. Don't even like the stuff but my granda was delighted.

  • I started doing the Tesco price checking at the beginning of the week, thanks to this thread. So far I have got about £53.00 of meat.

Pork shoulder in Baldock (one joint my first attempt – no problems)
Pork shoulder in Bedford (two joints – tried to offer price difference at first, also didn’t bother to remove shelf label)
Smoked gammon in Huntingdon (one joint £8.48 – no problems)
Unsmoked gammon in Lincoln (one joint £8.48 – requested name and address)
Smoked gammon in Kettering (one joint £8.48 – tried to say edge shelf label applied to smoked gammon not to prime smoked gammon! I pointed out that the unsmoked edge label was exactly the same and that was also wrong – got full refund)
Unsmoked gammon in Huntingdon (one joint £8.48 – they have changed the smoked but too lazy to check unsmoked at the same time – no problems)

I am looking forward to next week and some new stores to check out. The good thing about the pork shoulder and the gammon is that it is all suitable for home freezing, so no waste. Once again thank you for the info.
  • Just been out and got some more cheese and bacon! Tescos Mild Cheese £3.34/kg on shelf edge was £3.35/kg on the cheese itself, 16 slices of thick cut RIND ON bacon was £2.78 on shelf edge and £3.18 on packet. The CS man was the rudest and most argumentative i have come across to date. He tried to say the bacon shelf label applied to a different bacon and went and got the pack he said it did apply to! The pack he showed me was thin, rindless bacon - meanwhile my daughter went and got the shelf edge label - which said RIND ON!!!!! As for the cheese it took some time to explain to him that I was overcharged per kg (only 1p though). Oh I love shopping at Tescos - spent £26 got £13 back. :rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Im a paid up member of this thread at last. Smoked bacon. !.58 on packet 1.38 on shelf edge.
Girl went off to check and took the wrong price off then asked me to come with her as she did not know what I meant.
Luckily the lady she handed it to wandered past holing it and a packet of bacon!!!

She then tried to give me the 40p difference. I said no free bacon and full refund please!!

Was not as easy as I thought.

    HEADS UP!

Florence and Fred twinpack short sleeve shirt one cream the other blue with yellow checks barcode number 5000358025880 sku number 12579 815630 priced at £9.00 per pack scanning at £2.25 so two short sleeved shirts £1.12 each,
I have tried the others in the range but they scan at full price, I have purchased all 15 1/2 collars but would expect the misprice to apply to other sizes of the same product.

Sorry no refund option on this misprice.

Bacon joint price per kilo I think it was £3.44 on pack and £3.42 on shelf. Picked up 2. Refund back and got to keep them but asked me to write my name and address down. Wasn't amused at that but did it anyway.

The most they can actually require of you is your signature and that for internal purposes only to deter dishonesty from their own staff and perhaps satisfy the inland revenue to justify rebate at audit. And in any event who's to say you aren't the real Mickey Mouse I've never met him without his suit on or at least if I have I was not aware of it at the time.

Thanks Ben500, I had read that on here they shouldn't be taking your address but I didn't want to cause a scene. Was getting paranoid that they remembered me from 1 week ago getting money back for mispriced lamb but it was a different person so didn't think so. Plus this is only the 2nd time i have found something mispriced from reading this thread. The only other time was 3 years ago when they overcharged me for reduced bananas.Never looked for misprices until I read this thread 3 weeks ago. I wasn't greedy as I could easily have gotten several.
