Oh the condensation on the inside of the panels is nothing to do with condensation in your house. its pretty much the fact that the seals have gone on them so they are not air tight. Happened to my parents patio window and one of their bedroom windows. Got worse and worse till they could not see out of it!If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0

Good for you, you could have saved money by just buying cheaper storage heaters.
I bought 2 for my mum who is elderly. They were expensive but definately are a big improvement on the old oil filled radiators. They didn't heat up the whole of the room properly before switching themselves off and she used to have to push the one from the lounge into the adjoining kitchen to warm that room up. She has a Wibo in the lounge and one in the bedroom and the sales lady said she didn't think she'd need one in the kitchen and that's turned out to be right. Also her electric bills have gone down even though the price of her electricity has gone up. I think the most important thing is that she understands how to control the thermostat and she's more comfortable, so I'd recommend them.:T:T0 -

Welcome to the forum.
Well your mum might be happy with them. However the simple fact remains that they give out no more heat for her money than the simple £10 heater or a 1/2/3 bar fire she might have used as a child or indeed her old oil filled radiators.
How much did they cost to buy?0 -
Sounds to me that the storage heaters were just not releasing the heat. Some people dont want to have portable heaters all over the place.
I guess they will look neater. Each to their own! I would have gone for ASHP;s im really pushing that stuff! If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

I don't know which post you are refering to?
If it is the Wibo heaters, recommended by Melanie King above, they are not storage heaters!0 -

They cost £3,500 but your arguement over price is irrelevant to my mother, these work for her and the old ones didn't. She's 80 and delighted with them.0 -

Egad!!! for 2 electric heaters!!
I thought this was the moneysaving forum0 -
Melanie,
If price paid is irrelevant, one might ask why you post on a Money Saving Website.
To be perfectly frank if my 80 year old Mother had paid £3,500 for TWO radiators I would be absolutely appalled and would taking action against the firm through trading standards and in the Courts!
And on a Money Saving Website - you actually recommend them!!!!0 -
Agree entirely. Very expensive to buy and to run, feel I got well and truly conned. Could never recommend Wibo heaters. ASA ruling fully justified.0

I am assisting an old lady who has recieved large electricity bills. She was sold 2 Wibo heaters for almost £2000 and told they would cost £60 per year to run! I have calculated that the 2 Wibo plus an oil-fired heater and a fan heater actually cost her £1600/year - I suspect that the Wibo heaters are at least half of this, so £800/year. Rather more than the £60 claimed. The salesman also told her that there was a grant available against the cost and he would apply for it for her. She has heard no more and has received no money.
As many have said, electric fires are all of pretty much the same efficiency. Paying high prices does not give a magic higher efficiency, just higher profits for the seller (or re-seller).0
