A great way of thinking. Who cares about snobbery these days? :D
All the basics biscuits are great and mega cheap.

Chocolate digestives and ginger snaps! Yum pass me the cup of tea!

I felt a bit funny about the packaging in white and orange and thinking that everyone would look at my trolley and think "oh she's a scrubber". Now this thought does not bother me at all and I laugh at the saving money on all this stuff and how much money people are wasting on branded goods like I did. Now I do not care and just think how much money the shops are making on absolutely everything they sell
    Moneysaver and proud :)
  • I can't wait to tell people about my food bargains.
Only problem is if everyone followed my advice the price will shoot up :(

I bought some basics chicken breasts to try........cooked them this morning to go into a curry. Must say water came out of them something that doesn't happen with my Costco chicken breasts so don't think I shall be buying them again. Have bought a basics whole chicken to try too so will let you know how that goes.

Nope, but some items due to their nature aren't hidden away; bubble bath, cordial things like that.

You have people come round for a bubble bath?

We use the basics mayo and find it great. Plus the fat content is less than 50% of the Hellmans!

Very impressed with the mayo, will be using this in future!! No more Hellmans for me. Also like the cornflakes so no more Kelloggs. Need to try more things out :T

Tonight, I ate my dinner with a spoon.

Why did I eat my dinner with a spoon?

Because I had tried to eat value cauliflower- it was so tiny (tiny tiny pieces) that much of it even slid through the colander! Am not sure if I just drew the short straw here and its usually edible, but will remember for next time: maybe only good for some sort of vegetable smoothies or soups!

I usually get away fine with eating Tescos value veg, its in little bits, but they are not usually as tiny as Sainsburys are!

:rotfl: I bought the basics cauli - I did wonder if it was the sweepings off the floor where they prune the main head ;)
Still on the upside it was really quick to cook :D

For once, I don't think we can accuse a supermarket of profiteering here.

These are still clearly massively subsidised.

Thanks for the link 1carminestocky:beer:, I did know that the price of tea was going up to be honest - probably my main reason for trying the basic one in the first place as I drink copious amounts of the stuff. As you say, still massively subsidised and, more importantly, still a lot cheaper than the named brands!
