Another one to add to my list. Choc Ices, 10 for 60p, so good I ate two last night.Lynzie Lou :dance:0

Shocking abuse! I might even treat myself to another 2 tonight, if there's any left.Lynzie Lou :dance:0

Mrs Carmine (who appears to becoming as sad as me when it comes to Sainsbugs basics, lol) is adamant the chopped toms are now much thicker than they used to be - certainly the ones we've used this week seem very Napolina-like. Anyone else noticed a difference in the texture?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
One to avoid, Sainsbury's Basics spray deodorant. Lately every other can or even a higher percentage gets 'stuck' so you have a useless three-quarters full can. It is so regular I can only consider it a ploy to effectively make you pay full-price for a basics anti-perspirant, or give up and buy a pricier one.
I should really take my little row of 'lemon' orange and white anti-persps in and ask for a refund. But I think I'll just buy my personal items from Superdrug in future.0 -
Garlic bread one of the best we have tried, also agree with baked beans, do like the wholemeal bread but find it goes mouldy often before the best before date0

Peanut butter - awesome. 69p.0

Pretty boring I know, but I find their swing bin liners excellent value. At that price I half expected the bag to rip on my way outside to the bin but they are stronger than they look. Will certainly buy again."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I must admit I am a recent convert. I found this thread and have read it like a book from Thursday and finishing it this morning. I must admit the majority of the products do seem well received.
I have always been a brand snob and decided to bite the bullet and fill my trolley up with basics on Thursday evening (and again last night). All of the products I have tasted so far are equally as palatable as the more expensive brand (except the pasta did indeed look dirty as another member commented - I ended up buying the next brand up).
The experience was excrutiating at first - I felt very embarrassed walking around with a trolley filled with white and orange. I was convinced that everyone who walked past was peering into my trolley and judging me based on my purchases. My perception has since been changed by the posts on this thread.
One thing I will not compromise on - tea! I love a variety of teas from earl grey, english breakfast, assam etc so wouldn't be able to stick to a single tea and certainly wouldn't give up the luxury of Twinings.
Products Tried
Sainsbury's Basics Chicken & Mushroom Noodle Snack - 26p - Delicious
Sainsbury's Basics UHT Skimmed Milk - 49p - Probably the same milk in a different carton, still nice though.
Sainsbury's Basics Crisps - 76p - Edible but the salt and vinegar are a bit lacking on the vinegar front.
Sainsbury's Basics 1L Storage containers - £1.42 - Bought for lunches, pleasantly surprised when I got home, you get 2 in a pack!
Sainsbury's Basics Milk Chocolate - 27p - Scrumptious! I devoured a bar this morning when I only intended to eat a quarter of it.
Sainsbury's Basics Tuna - 58p - Bought for the cat as an occassional treat. Abbie is usually a snobby cat and will only eat premium cat food but she ate it contently.
Sainsbury's Basics Scourers - 15p - Bought spontex before and although there is a difference in quality, they will do for cleaning.
Sainsbury's Basics Cling Film - 35p - Does the job - I use it to cover the work surface as I have OCD.
Sainsbury's Basics Plastic Cups - 99p - Plastic cups are plastic cups! Due to OCD I won't drink out of a glass that someone else has drank from. ASDA's work out cheaper though.
Sainsbury's Basics Sparkling Water - 12p - No difference from my usual brand except my 2nd bottle's label was slightly wonky.
Sainsbury's Basics Tomato Ketchup - 40p - Comes in the same bottle and tastes identical to Tesco value, which my housemate buys - they must be from the same manufacturer.
Products Bought and Waiting to Try
Sainsbury's Basics Baked Bean - 29p
Sainsbury's Basics Orange Juice - 56p
Sainsbury's Basics Chopped Tomatos - 35p
Sainsbury's Basics Tomatoes (Fresh) - 79p
Sainsbury's Basics Rice - 73p (for a kilogram - bargain!)
Sainsbury's Basics Fish Fingers - 69p
Sainsbury's Basics Potatoes (canned) - 26p
Sainsbury's Basics Soups (Tomato, Vegetable & Chicken) - 17p
Sainsbury's Basics Sweet & Sour Sauce - 28p - I don't like curry but curry sauce at 4p seems ridiculous - how do they profit from that?!
