Anyone tried the toothpaste? I got it last week when in a different store out of pure curiosity. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
-
We use it. Toothpaste is just toothpaste eh ? All tastes the same ! it's the brush that does the work.0
-
Agreed. We use it. It's 17p. It's toothpaste, tastes of mint and has exactly the amount of fluoride as recommended by the BDA. What more could anyone want in a toothpaste? Colgate go faster stripes?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
I'm really liking the basics blueberries at the moment. They're not mega-cheap at £1 a punnet but compared to the other kinds, they're a bit of a bargain. It says on the pack that they're a bit smaller but I can't honestly say that I've noticed that, the last pack I bought had some pretty big ones in it.0

Great thread! I've just done a big-ish midweek shop to pick up lots of Basics for the cupboard
.
My g/f couldn't believe that the Strawberry 'angel delight' was only 2p! I hate the stuff anyway but she said it wasn't actually that bad compared to the proper one, and it's over 30 times cheaper.
The 4 breaded fish at 98p is also a bargain!
No curry sauce left though

The breaded fish isn't very nice.0

can feel my face burning with embarrassement reading this thread! I am one of those awful snobs that buy taste the difference and all the other "goodies" from sainsburys! Thanks sooo much for educating me on my snobbish, foolish ways!
Saturday is shop day in my house so I am armed (and dangerous) with a list of the most recommended basic items and I am going to try and get my shopping bill down as much as possible! (currently over £60 for just the two of us) << see embarrassement!
Thanks again, will let you know how I get on, currently only ever buy sandwich bags and kitchen roll from basic range! :TLynzie Lou :dance:0 -
LL I was exactly the same - for two of us it was always over £60. Now I can sometimes do it on £30 and always under £40. Things are just as nice !0

Really? Not tried it yet but thought it was worth a shot. We usually buy the 4 pack of breaded fish for £5 so its quite a difference. Someone here said it was alright so its worth a try for 98p.
We've had the tinned fruit before though and that's been great.
We could quite easily spend £60+ on food per week (and would like to) but we're saving for a house deposit, so £20 or so saved a week is worth it in the long run.
Currently only use a few Basics things like tinned tomatoes but we'll see. It's not been bad so far!

I buy lots of basics but am too scared to try the curry sauce. Is it actually good? At 7p it scares me off- if it was 30p I might buy it- weird eh?0
