Certainly if you order online, if you are unhappy about anything you just have to ring the 0800 number shown on the receipt and tell them. I've had cause to ring a couple of times (but maybe I'm very hard to please, lol). The last order we received 2 basics garlic baguettes with that day's use by date on them so I rang to say basically the picker should replicate what you would do if you were in the shop and there's nowhere way we would pick a product who's use by date expired that day. Profuse apologies, and £1 refund sent by e-voucher (even though they only came to 88p).

The loose apples are fantastic value at the moment, btw. We got 8 very decent sized ones delivered for the princely sum of 76p (1.3kg)!

PS With regard to the toothpaste, I'm not sure how it can't be working? The basic act of using a brush and water (and no toothpaste) effectively cleans your teeth, TBH, but the added fluoride is to exact BDA guidelines so that would be beneficial. Most toothpastes contain stuff that makes your mouth tingle so you think it's good for your teeth.

basics dishwasher tablets - bad - leave a dull finish and white residue, went up to the standard 3 in 1 sainsburys and now everythings shiny and clean

basics frozen oven chips - good value quantity wise but a lot of unedible brown chips with no potato in them, also i noticed palm oil as a main ingredient which i've heard should be avoided

I find Iceland chips to be better value than the basics range. It was £1 for 1.81kg last time I looked.

The basics apples were great by the way, definitely going to sack the pink ladies

Gave the ketchup another go as money really tight this month and I think it has improved - or I was just really hungry! Anybody know if the recipe has changed?

I personally don't use ketchup so couldn't say but I decanted it into a Heinz squeezy bottle and our kids couldn't tell a difference (they didn't know it wasn't Heinz, significantly, lol). Which is remarkable when you consider it's approx 80% cheaper.

I bought the basics veggie pasties the other day (filled with potato, cheese and onion). They looked gorgeous and good sized at 3 for 99p.

I was disappointed though - I don't know if I got a bad batch but the filling tasted a bit gritty and really put me off. The pastry was lovely.

Our local Sainsburys had their basic curry sauce for 7p a jar which my kids love as its not to spicey, it became even better value when they went through the till at 5p:D, and i have plenty or jars now for jam making

Absolutely. I put my dishwasher on 3 times and stuff was still dirty. Back to Finish for me. And I am a great Basics fan, including the tea bags now.

Oh yes, I bow down before the awesomeness that is the 0.35p tea bag notworthy.gif. I'm not suggesting they taste like Earl Grey but we see no reason to pay more than 28p for 80 bags now. With the amount we drink, the annual savings are ridiculous, TBH. Fairtrade as well.
