I bought some of the apples too, they look good and I normally only go for pink lady apples (bit fussy). Hope they taste ok though!0 -
Major news (yes, I'm sad!
) My wife has now converted to basics cornflakes  If you knew her you would be just as shocked. She's always been a Kelloggs girl through and through but as we ran out of Kelloggs the other day she started eating the basics ones....and now really likes them. Enough to eschew the Kelloggs. Daft as it sounds, this will probably save us over £100 per year! On cornflakes. Madness.

LIDL or ALDI forget the basics just the normal foods and real prices. Much cheaper and better quality than the so called offers from the supermarkets.0

Funnily enough, we only pop into Aldi these days if they have a super duper offer on - now we are basics 'converts' the so-called 'cheap' supermarkets seem rather expensive in comparison
. Plus we have also got used to using the clear traffic light labelling system on the basics products. Depends what you define as 'better quality' but, to us, it tends to prove that buying basics/value in most instances means eating less fat/sugar/salt than the so-called 'better quality' stuff.

I've tried quite a lot the Basics range with usually good results. Wouldn't go for the teabags or washing up liquid again. Cashew nuts and Japanese rice crackers stand out though. Other half won't allow me to buy the toothpaste again as he's not sure it actually works. I've noticed a huge increase in the range lately! Naan bread anyone? Pepperoni pizza! Even a range of barbecue ready fresh meats! Best buy has to be leaf salad in a bag. The fruit ande veg is generally good although the bananas were a bit sad the other day. Most were black inside which was disappointing to say the least.0
