Last time I looked the Basics jar of curry was down to 10p. A price REDUCTION?? Crikey
. And the Basics Rice at 73p for 1kg is absolutely unbeatable at the price!

I saw this Curry Sauce in my local sainsburys, think it was 12 or 15p when I last looked. Thought it was bargainous but Asda do one for exactly the same price.
I didn't risk buying it though, think I'd only use it to put on chips or something rather than (more expensive) chicken as I imagine its pretty bland?
The basics Strawberry Jam is pretty tasty too though.0 -

We have a jar of the curry sauce in our cupboard that my wife refuses to use. :rotfl: She's of the opinion that it must be rubbish if it's so cheap (although she said that about the 18p Rice Pudding until she had some with some of the 18p pineapple chunks thrown in and loved it, so who knows what's gonna happen?). Is it more like Chinese curry in taste?

I ordered some last week and they sent subs so is this the end of the road for them?
Couldn't find any notices at work to say whether the stock cubes are discontinued or have been taken off as the result of a product recall - I would check on the computer but I am now confined to the tills and don't get a chance to do this anymore. A customer I served a couple of weeks ago had the basics stock cubes in her shopping and they scanned as not for sale.
Just incase no one has mentioned this (quite a long thread) check the price of basics products per 100g where possible as they do not always work out cheaper than the JS normal range.0 -

I'm with the opinion of your wife too!
I'm going to Sainsbury's on Sunday or Monday. I'll pick some up and let you know! I'm intrigued to say the least.0 -

Very good point, i usually buy basics fruit and veg, however i noticed it was cheaper to buy regular loose bananas than basicsThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Oh yes, Basics Custard Creams 30p for a large pack. Infinitely better than Tesco's value packs.
