I know it's not a Basics item but does anybody have any experience of Sainsburys own brand gravy powder (not granules)? Way cheaper than Bisto but Mrs C has always used the brand name. Sainsburys don't actually stock Bisto. TIA!Call me Carmine....

Free range chicken flavouring, lol?

This is getting extraordinary now. We are back for our second weekly online Sainsburys order and still using mysupermarket so as to be able to compare our 'basket' at the 'others'. Almost exclusively Basics products in the baket so far. 35 items so far. No BOGOF/special offers etc. Cost at sainsburys is £36.93, cost at asda is £46.69, Tesco £50.80 and the frankly silly Ocada £77.38.
We are Sainsburys converts, my wife cannot believe what is happening. Tesco is currently 40% dearer on this shop....Call me Carmine....

My teenaged sons tried the Basics Chicken Instant Noodles thingy earlier. We've always previously got the Bachelors ones as both my kids have them as snacks (I've no idea where they get their taste in food from as it makes me feel sick just watching them eat it!). Anyway, both reported they liked them very much, amazingly. These things cost 10 blimming pence, for God's sake. Crazy.Call me Carmine....

Have been experimenting with Basics over my last 2 'big shops'. Have to say, I've been really happy with the quality of everything. Best things for me so far...Creme Caramels (45p for 4!!!), Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Cream Cheese (gorgeous on oatcakes for my lunch).
Also all the fruit and veg - you can't really go wrong, a fairtrade Banana is a fairtrade banana.
Thanks to all on this thread for great suggestions.0 -

Agreed - very good £0.30 I think0
