I have just discovered the basic crumpets and they are gorgeous, crispy round the edges-much better than the most expensive Warburtons brand.
Also choc digestives-identical to mcvities just smaller, and refuse sacks are good too.0 -

I've been watching this thread with interest and decided to do an online shop to try all the basics stuff. This might be a silly question, but will the delivery come from my local sainsburys, as I know that they don't stock half the things I've put in my basket online. I'm just wondering whether it will come from the store or from a depot type place...?
I'll be sure to post what I think of it on here tho of what I do get0 -

I'm a newbie, too, so by no means an expert but I would have thought they would tell from your postcode the actual store they will be coming from and hence just list the items they can supply? We have an Asda about 1 mile from our house but online orders are processed from a much bigger store approx 10 miles away so maybe this is the same with Sainsburys? Any regulars care to comment?Call me Carmine....

They have depots as well as stores, if the item is available on line then go for it.
Depots can have a much wider range of goods than stores and thus more choice of items.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

I love the veg: broccolli, cauliflower, carrots etc....
They are just odd shape florets, and as I cut up for stir fry, stews and the like, they are perfect.0 -
Trying a few things today:
Teabags - I'm mightily impressed with these, an absolute steal, make a great brew, and best of all, are fairtrade!:D
Snack crackers - like TUC biscuits but less salty, nice with a bit of cheese (especially if you buy it from "reduced to clear"!
Got a few more things to try out so will report back when tested.
