Apples and Bananas are great - used to buy other bananas the greener the better and my only comment about the basic ones is that they are quite ripe already!

Spent £ 1.40 ish on fruit and have tend to eat in in five working days, which is 4 / 5 bits if fruit a day - so don't bother with lunch now so very money saving.

Just also bought double concentrated apple and blackcurrant quash at £0.53 and is really yummy.

    Also silverfoil is very good!

Would like to know what the sweetcorn is like though - not many people have mentioned it.

Some people have said they find the basics sweetcorn a bit chewy, but I have bought it and found it absolutely ok - tend to use it in soups and in pasta salads, etc, so cold or hot is it fine.

However, basics sweetcorn isn't the cheapest option for sweetcorn at sainsburys - per 100g, their 1KG bag of own-brand frozen sweetcorn works out cheaper, and its a bit more convenient as you just grab what you need.

We used the Basics potatoes and onions for the first time today. Very good quality, the potatoes in particular were superb, no 'bad bits' on them whatsoever. The onions are also amazing value at 50p for a 1.5kg bag. Mostly small in size (there are 18 in the bag!) which suits us just fine as they go into the Remoska whole. Delish.

I don't go to Sainsburys a lot, but make a special effort to stock up on their basic tinned peaches and pineapple, much cheaper than Tescos Value, and in juice (tescos are in syrup so wouldn't buy them anyway). Can't remember the exact price tho'. They also do basic grapefruit pieces, fruit cocktail and mandarins, again all in juice

Last time i went (a few weeks a go!) the peaches were 28p, the cheapest I could find in Tescos / Morrisons were 49p. I'm def gonna shop in Sainsburys more!

I get the pineapples for 16p from Sainsburys. I also wouldn't buy the ones in syrup from Tesco, at one point my Sainsburys didn't stock basics pineapples so I just went without. I can't justify buying Del Monte!

I've got some Sainsburys pinapples coming on Wednesday (my first Sainsburys online order) so I will review them then. For 18p I suppose it would be churlish to be over-critical, lol. I've also ordered 960 Fairtrade tea bags...for the grand total of £3.36!!

I made a special effort to go to Sainsburys today purely for the basics range...

Bought the Tortilla Chips which are nice as is the basics hummus. Noy bad and 25p and 75p each.

I also got some basics apple juice, chocolate mouses, fruit youghurts, rich tea biscuits, caramel wafers, stock cubes, tinned tomatoes and red kidney beans...two cans of each. Oh and some basics mince beef also, purely to try....all coming to £5.07. Most impressed. I was very impressed with the basics fruit and veg too - had already got my weeks worth in from Morrisons but will be going to Sainos now I think....

Has anyone tried their nappies? I'm just about ready to start potty training my ds and thought they'd be ideal.
