It was only a small label on the shelf edge not a big promotion one, I checked when I scanned and they went through ok. Just browsed around net and at least some other stores have it, wonder if it is worth just trying it at a self scan till to see what comes up.
Just found offer had already been posted

I don't think I have seen the basic baby salad leaves mentioned on this thread. I always buy a pack of these and they stay fresh a good 5 or 6 days. As good as other salad leaves they sell and a good selection of different leaves in the pack."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Have just bought the basics garlic bread to have tonight - 40p - can't really go wrong - this is to go with my basics olives and basic hummous (which I always buy and which are fab) for a cheap starter ...Mortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0

Could think of a few more things I bought from the basics range.
Basics toilet paper Now, it's true, it is a lot thinner than other brands and the sheets are narrower I find, or am I imagining that? And the carton roll in the middle is bigger than with other toilet paper. But I went online and found out that the price per sheet is only a fraction of what other brands cost so even if I need to use double (or triple) the amount than I normally would, it is still cheaper, right? Not sure whether I will be buying this again, will have to experiment a bit more on how long a roll actually lasts.
Basics kitchen towels Fine for mopping up the occasional spill.
Basics chopped tomatoes It goes in sauces or soups so can't really tell the different between that and any other brand.
Basics peppers Good quality.
Basics Frozen Cauliflower Comes in tiny, tiny bits. Ok for soups or something to bulk things out but would not use it on its own.
Basics dark chocolate Used this for baking, behaved just fine for that. And then nibbled the rest with some red wine- can't fault it.
Basics mixed herbs Has more thyme in apparently than other mixed herb varieties but I like thyme, so that's not a problem. For 14p this is excellent value!
Basics baked beans A bit more mushy than what I usually buy (Branstons) but taste is ok.
Basics tinned kidney beans Taste a bit bland and the beans are kind of mushy but ok for chilli. I usually buy dried beans and then cook them at home, I find that's even cheaper than tinned but if you are short of time then these tinned ones are pretty good too.March GC £122.25/ £120
April GC £109.83/ £650 -

Try Basics red wine. Tastes like other red wines I've had. Not as high as some wines in alcohol content (11%) but it's £2.72 a bottle!0 -

Oh my goodness. I don't normally post in my lunch hour but I am shocked. had a quick whizz around my local Sainsburys to get bits for tea tonight (disorganised as usual) and thought I'd treat myself to a snack. The last time I bought the basics tortillas, which I don't think was that long ago, they were about 30p, now they are................. 50p. What is that all about???? :eek:0
