Sainsbury's Basics good/bad items

I can't tell any difference between their basics: mozzarella (love this!), mangoes or bananas. Oh and printer paper, we always buy basics.
Really don't like the cola & the ice lollies are far too watery we found. I also wouldn't buy the clingfilm or as they call it 'wrapping' film. Doesn't stick to the items you're trying to film!
I agree about the clingfilm. Does not stick therefore no proper seal on whatever you are trying to cover. Noticed the price of printer paper the other day. Even cheaper than Wilkinsons. Will try it next time I am out of paper.0 -
^ have found the paper good. We get through a lot at home but we print out a lot of things relating to work/college so it needs to be decent quality. Sainsburys basic fits the bill :beer:0

Hello
We tried the basic Tomato pasta sauce and it was ok. We used it for a quick spag bol when we was on holiday.
I usually shop at Tescos or Asda but am def going to shop at Sainsburys this week as i was quite impressed with their prices and def looks like their basics range ( is better then their rivals) :j0 -
the milk chocolate, yum yum0

Oooh- and another to add (don't know why I didn't add this ages ago, been eating them for months) is Basics King Prawns. They are a little smaller but have the same texture as the more expensive types.
Also the Basics frozen prawns. On comparison larger (a little bit!) then the value frozen prawns from Tesco.
Basics fresh prawns are too small though I think but would go well in an omelet.0 -
I did a thread search for the filter coffee to see what others thought - see one person liked it and one didn't, so will add my voice to the balance to say I was pleasantly surprised. They haven't been doing the special offers on ground coffee recently so thought may as well give the Basics one a go and it was just as good as their other blended ones and almost half the price. Will be buying more next time I do the work coffee run, and seeing if anyone notices0

Kidney Beans - 19p a tin. Great for the likes of me who love a good chilli con carne!"The reason we're successful, darling? My overall charisma, of course." -- Freddie Mercury
