We quite like those. Obviously not as tasty as the real thing but okay in a sandwich with tomato or a bit of onion. Better still in a toastie.
However I notice they have gone up to 68p for 10. They were 55p then went down to 50p for a while, now about 35% increase! Gone are the days when things went up a few pence.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

anyone tried sainsburys basic cappuccino.....
Hello, I've tried it and did not like but on the other hand my friend absolutely loves it... I'm not a big coffee drinker anyway (and she is) which is probably why ... I think the last time I bought it, it was about £1.35Mortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0 -
I just got a Basics Kettle for under a fiver. Sort of works OK but it will have to go back if the "plasticy" aftertaste I'm now noticing from tea doesn't go away fast.
I've already followed the instructions to boil a full kettle twice before first use.0 -
These are things I have bought/used:
Tinned baked beans, juice thinner, but nice taste 29p?
Tinned tom's chopped last time I bought 35p?
Tinned potatoes - hubby likes them better than the pricier ones
Ham
corned beef both in tin and sliced fresh
veg tomato chicken soup not too bad if a bit on thin side 17p
noodles 9p daughter likes these
red grapes - so long as you check date and have a good look at the fruit
potatoes - 99p bag also check for bad'ns
crisps - 48p
hoola hoops 81p
still water 13p
beer bitter 94p not too bad if you don't need high alcohol content.
minced beef 97p?
chickens both breasts thighs and whole
cream cheese 47p?
cheesy spread 39p?
cheddar full flavour not too bad if you buy in small amounts. Good for flavouring a basic white sauce (home made of course).
Spaghetti lasagne sheets pasta shapes fine not sure of price these days as I tend to buy more in the winter time.
Long grain rice, so long as you rinse it well in sieve before cooking to get rid of the excess rice dust and sort any odd grassy ones out.
long life fruit juices esp tomato and orange or breakfast. 34p or 56p
These are some of the regular things I buy, but then I do cook quite a bit from the beginning as I prefer not to eat ready meals which can be very high sugar fat content and as I have diabetes, I find it better to do this.

I tried two Sainsbury's basics today, firstly lettuce, fine but I think it was just a basic because it was small and not so pretty, the second was scotch eggs which were absolutely disgusting, like an egg wrapped in slimy mashed potato the pack wasn't kidding when it said 'less meat'.~*~ If you don't need it, it isn't a bargain ~*~0

I bought the Basics kettle and toaster for our caravan. Toaster fine, albeit a bit slow. Kettle didn't work unless we used a mug to hold the switch up! Would have returned it but by the time we were coming home we had got used to this method! By the way, don't recall it having a "plasticy" taste."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Basics jaffa cakes are a hit.
But has anyone else noticed that basics jaffa cakes have shot up from 38p for 2 dozen to 72p? Probably no coincidence that 36p per dozen is the same rate as Asda's value range and Tesco's.
Whatever happened to healthy - and price lowering - competition?

I normally buy the basics cherrys - they are usually 99p or £1 but yesterday they had gone up to £1.50  Didn't buy any ...
But tried the basics white rolls - I think there was 12 in a pack for 35p - will be buying these againMortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0 -
Have the basics chicken curry ready meal to try and the basics pasta bake ready meal to try. Both were in the fridge section. I got the pasta bake reduced so it was only 48p. Don't look the biggest portions but there for a light quick emergancy tea for when I get in late after work.2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

I tried the Rich Tea. In terms of flavour I couldn't detect any difference from normal ones. However, you have to be a bit cautious when dunking - they "wilt" a bit faster!0
