Think far too many people are catching on about basics now! Today during my shop they had ran out of basics chickens and basics feta cheese! Both if which I regularly use :(

Not quite basics but loving sainsbury's own brand pop at the moment. Have always had their diet coke but discovered there own brand ginger beer (sugar free) which at 55p (2l) tastes exactly the same of the branded version. Got their dandelion and burdock to taste next!

Regarding the other post on basics apple juice we use the basic OJ a lot too. It for smoothies and is cheaper than other brands.

My Basics vice is the little Mozarella Pearls. I could eat a whole container at once with some sliced tomato and basil. They are to die for and are lovely in salads.

;) Felines are my favourite ;)

Slightly off topic but I find the 29p Cola & Lemonade from Spar's own brand range is excellent!!In fact,I prefer it to branded!:T

Is it just my local store or have the Basics blueberries and the pack of 2 spring rolls been discontinued?

Can't speak for the spring rolls but with the fruit its all dependant on whats in season. Blueberrys are coming to the end of their season so I'd imagine they are not as cheap to get hold of, hence not being available at a price which would suit the basics range. If its any consolation there are no basics honeydew melons (yet!) and these are my favorite.

Creme Caramel 45p for 4 - these are very nice

Curry Sauce 9p - been said before but outstanding value with nice taste

Jam 38p per Jar - perfectly acceptable

    Sponge Scourers 12p for 5
    - great for washing the pots (bit to thin for the bathroom) use a new one every week - very hygienic !!

Chicken Roll 400g - 94p 400g is a lot of chicken roll! was amazed by the size of the pile when it was delivered.-

Jaffa Cakes - x 24 - 54p no different to brand but third of the price.

Shortbread Fingers - 17p not very eventfull but filling all the same

Chocolate 27p for big bar white/dark/milk - must buy for chocolate lovers

    Basics Ready Salted Crisps x 12 - 48p Very nice and crispy 4p a bag? :cool2:

Fruit and Fibre Basics 80p for 500g - unfortunately price been on the increase lately used to be 64p but probably still better than paying 2+pound for a brand if you mix a handfull of basics sultanas or basics dried fruit (both around 60p a bag) makes for a very filling breakfast

Mayonaise - 38p - large jar and perfectly acceptable taste - great with the aforementioned chicken rolls.

Beans and Sausages - currently 26p a tin about 7-8 sausages - a cast iron bargin and bizarrely, cheaper than the stand-alone tin of beans.

    Tuna Chunks - 45p
Tuna has gone up all around the board but the basics is still by far the cheapest and no different to the brands.

Roll-on-deodrant - 30p my personal fave works just as well as the brands but has a very subtle, pleasant scent much better than brands like sure with their strong overpowering scents. Incredible price.

Kitchen towel - 2 for 1 pound large thick rolls , great value.

    The bad

Air Freshner 28p per tin - not a very nice scent at all

    Mouthwash 45p
    - not enough mint chemical taste

They used to be 29p for a long time then they dropped to 15 or 20p a few weeks ago (I can't remember which was the basics fromage frais and which was the yogs, sorry). Thats a bit annoying if its gone up to 40p now... :(
