Does anyone else have a problem with their Panasonic 'Home Bakery' where the tops of the loaves end up concave?

I have just made a loaf in my MR BM and the top had collapsed, checked the recipe and I had put too much yeast in :o

Other causes can be

* Too much liquid or liquid too warm
* Salt was not added
* Too much yeast added
* High humidity and hot ambient temperatures can cause bread to over rise and collapse
* High altitudes can cause the bread to over rise and collapse
* Lid is open during baking

Don't know if any of this applies :confused:

Evening :hello:

I'm knackered - have been on a training course today and had a not very good experience thanks to trainer not realising that I was serious when I said I had a phobia of job interviews :o So she suddenly made us do a "job interview" role-play exercise, and I would have been being interviewed by two really high-powered colleagues who I get really negative vibes from... and I burst into tears and went completely to pieces before we had even begun, and wasn't in a fit state to take any further part in the course :(

Am currently trying to resist the lure of a glass of wine as I am trying to cut down and I want to get out of the habit of associating alcohol with stress relief :rolleyes: Still I think I will probably have one (or two) later.

Now vegetating in front of the telly... good old Tuesday evening junk... looking forward to Supersize vs. Superskinny and Find Me The Face :)

I fancy cooking this evening, but I mustn't, due to an error of grocery-shopping judgement over the weekend (you could call it a Somerfield yellow-sticker accident :o) which has led to me having absolutely no freezer space left and a fridge full of perishables. I have four portions of macaroni cheese in the fridge, and enough chicken for at least four portions of Thai curry but the chicken will need to be used within the next 2 days! So am frantically "rotating" stuff between fridge and freezer so I am not eating the same thing every day but am making space in the freezer for the stuff in the fridge as I go along!

smokybabe - hope DH has stabilised :grouphug:

Love Rzl xx :wave:

We are very busy at work so I was sent an appeal today 'Please make us some cakes to keep us sane' lol. So I have 2 doz jam buns & 1 doz choc buns in the oven, they shouldn't take long to cook.
I have a little package of stash to send off tomorrow, so I'm hoping it will make someone happy, fabric stash that is, nothin illegal, lol.
Good luck with the kitchen GB.

Evevning all. (where's a "losing the will to live" smilie when you need one?)

I've just done my first shop on my own at Te$cos and I feel so wearilly depressed, you wouldn't believe it. Admittedly, I felt bad enough before I got there as we had just had one of those "if you're having this, I'm having that" conversations and all this business is draining me both physically and mentally. I guess my dear old mum's youngest son isn't as strong as he thought he was, and isn't in anything like good shape.

Regards the shopping, I didn't do too bad, all things considered. I took a list and stuck to it religiously, even walked straight past all the chocolate :eek: As that is a first for me, you can tell how low I've got. I got everything that I needed and nothing that I wanted :rolleyes: , it cost me £50 but some of it is store cupboard stuff and now the 'fridge is full with no processed junk in sight, but sadly the whole "experience" has really left me feeling very down. I've since trawled all the shopping threads looking for inspiration (I have, honest!) but I'm no happier. Does it get easier the more you do it or am I destined to spend a joyless time every week/month walking the aisles trying to find an item that's a penny cheaper than another brand??

Sorry if this comes across as a whinge, it's not meant to be. I'm just feeling very low at the moment and my "tunnel of despair" seems to have gotten a little bit longer and a little bit darker today.

Thanks all.

Hiya :)

I'm going to move this into the daily thread. It's our equivalent of having a chat with the neighbours over the garden fence.

They'll cheer you up. Honest :)

Martyn.............it will get better honestly -don;t know how I dare say that since OH does the shopping as he;s better at it and I'd only overspend.

Pat yourself on the back............you've done well and deserve to smile to yourself. Not everyone can do it.............and don't beat yourself up for feeling a bit low. Maybe next time you can treat yourself to a little something if it won't break the bank ? You'll have earned it I'm sure.
You'll find plenty of folk on here to support you and help you with ideas, suggestions and generally try and jolly you a long.
You've done well sticking to what you set out to get.............keep at it.........good luck x:T
