OS Daily Tuesday 4th March

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 4th March 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all :hello:

Congratulations to Auntie Lyndseyann and Miss Stefejb.
Smoky I hope OH is stable and you are still getting all the support you need. x

Aussie.... Come back, all is forgiven. :p:kiss:
Grannybroon...Go easy with the kitchen or it will end up driving you to drink.
Fingers crossed for everyone waiting for school results.

Very early start for me but I had a restless night and just gave up in the end.
Working from home today so need to be disciplined and ignore the jobs I really want to be doing. :o
More ironing to be done and stew to go in the SC for tea. Also want to try out a new bread recipe and maybe make some twinks. ;)

Hve a lovely day.

Morning Haribo and all who cross and follow

Have been up since 4.30 trying to get my head around this essay. Don't know why I bothered going to bed really, just felt I ought to, should have just stayed up all night.

Will hang out washing when it's light. Wasn't impressed to come home from work last night to find DS dirty school uniform all over the lounge and dirty dishes, particularly as I had dusted and hoovered before going out to work. Also OH had not done DS reading with him.

My books arrived from Amazon. I don't know about crochet, have had a quick go but it seems really complicated. Any thoughts Donny-Girl would be gratefully recieved. Think I need someone to show me rather than just picking up a book.

Off to do a literature search.

HUGS to all who want one especially SMOKEY AND FAMILY.

    Have a good day all.

Oh dear, what's she done now? :rotfl:

Lyndsey, congrats on auntie-dom :D I'm a bit jealous, I'm never going to be a proper auntie, my brother doesn't want kids. Mr tru's brothers have kids so I have 5 nephews-in-law LOL but no blood nieces or nephews. I would quite like one of my own.
Miss Stef, well done :T Just had an email from the nice SIL, nephew got his first choice too :T Good luck everyone, hope you get your first choice.

Morning Haribo, jannyannie, Tru and everyone else who follows,
I did post yesterday but the bloomin pc at w**k ate it and then i didn`t have time to re-do it. Having said that i will save this now and edit the original to add the rest so that it dosen`t happen again.

The ice on the car this morning was very thick, i was surprised because i thought it seemed quite a bit warmer today.
I`ve not caught up fully with yesterdays thread yet but i will be doing that soon, hope all is well in the Rubyred household and that Smokybabe has good news.

Well Mr Sunnyday is working his notice at w**k this week so thats a relief and hopefully an end to the huge stress he has been under lately, his new job which starts this Saturday will hopefully seem like a walk in the park and he should return to his normal self once he`s finished at the old place.

The money is not a huge amount so things will be rather tight but i am sure that the OS way of doing things will see us through as well as the huge support from everyone here.
It`s so nice to have online friends and i count myself lucky to have everyone here to chat to/ recieve advice from.
    Thanks Guys!!
Hopefully i`ll catch up later, off to read the rest of yesterdays thread now.
    Have a lovely Tuesday everyone.

    Morning All

I dont get to post in here often as mornings are usually hectic here but been up since early and everything is well under control

Brrrr its fair nippy in Burnley this morning.Hubby had to defrost the car before going to work and that made him grumpy, oh well he has a whole day at work to cheer up;)

Off to Tescos later to get some food for my poor fish that have been on enforced hunger strike for a couple of days now:eek:

Got a big batch of pastry to make up for the freezer later as I used my last block yesterday and I also have to make some Puff Pastry which drives me nuts but I love the results so a little pain is worth the gain:D

For all those who are poorly hope today is a better one

Thick frost on the cars this morning, so that will take a while to scrape.
Katy was having a huge row on the phone last night, it seems she checked up on the info I gave about the mobile phone her friend had got for her & she realised she was being conned, Delroy, who got the phones for her & her friends was getting a real earfull.
I think the police will be coming to see me today about the assault we witnessed on Friday night.
Big hugs to Smokey, JackieO, PP & anyone else in need.
    Hugs Hester

    Good morning everyone:D

Hoping all the boys and girls get to their first choice schools. A very tense time as I recall from the distant past.

(((((hugs))))) for all who'd like one, especially smoky. Hoping DH is making progress, however slowly.

Well the friend I meet at the gym rang to say she won't be going as she's not well, and I was sorely tempted to roll over and go back to sleep. But I'm a good girl and have got up and will be going to that place of terminal boredom on my own:rotfl:

Tonight's dinner will be salmon, with new potatoes and steamed cauli, carrots and baby courgettes. Wouldn't normally be courgettes, but Mr C didn't notice they were imported and just thought they looked nice. He's normally very good, to be fair, and the odd imported veggie is permitted I think.;)

I was thinking gardening today, but I've just heard the weather forecast, very chilly, so although the washing can brave it, I don't think I will:o So maybe some baking instead. The biscuit tin is empty and I know the troops don't like that state of affairs.

    Aussie, hope you're OK?

    Anyway, must be making tracks,

    CM x

Last we heard of Aussie, she was off to a party for a few drinks, and hasn't been heard of since :D

Freezing here today, but at least it's dry - we had snow last night, but it hasn't stuck

Off to SW today, and it's not looking good - why do I think I can cheat and still lose weight  Anyway, it's a tasting day today, so I am taking the leek and bacon bake I got the recipe for off here somewhere - I have just gone easy on the cheese :D

Chilli for tea, probably not very slimming, but I'll have to be good tomorrow.

    Catch everyone later x

    morning all,

VERY cold and frosty here, car is thick with frost will have to leave a bit early to get it off.

Thanks for all your wishes, every thing is fine in the ruby household :D , I am sure we will come up against this again, but perhaps we will be better prepared.

Good luck to al those waiting for news regarding schools today, I hope you all get whats best for you xx

Going to bung some mince and onion and carrot in the sc this morning, I am at work today, don't normally work mon or tues but am this week due to our financial year end, but I will then have six days off after :T :T

DD has dance class tonight, so will collect her at five, OH is off on his bike in a moment, rather him than me :D , but it does do him good.

I got a letter from my gas and elecy suppliers saying they were putting my DD up by £10 a month, so I swapped suppliers, and when I put my final readings in I was £67 in credit, so why put my DD up  I hate the suppliers

Hope all is well with smokey, love to you all xx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all!

Off to w*** soon. Have several errands to run (watch battery for DD, collect DH's wedding ring that's been stretched  :D , collect a parcel for DD, pay in Scout money to the bank).

Corned been hash bake for tea; DS and I will have an egg atop ours ;) ; DH, DS and DD will have baked beans; I'll have salad :p

The raspberry canes that I'd ordered to be delivered this autumn arrived yesterday  luckily I'd prepared the ground already (that's where my pumpkins were going) so managed to get them in. Meed to order some asparagus thongs next. Please don't snigger at the back  :D

Have a great day, Penny. x
