    Morning All

Rushed off my feet at work, as I'm still covering for someone else at the same time as doing my job. Need to speak to my union later as they're refusing to give me a new contract, despite changing my position within the company. I've waited 8 months, and I think that's more than enough time, especially for them just to say I'm not getting one.

Working till really late tonight, so I won't be getting much sleep.

Not really much Old Styling going on today, but hope everyone's ok

 GRRRRRRRRRRRRR Rant time, so be warned:mad:

I am having a nightmare week. My WM has become very temperamental over the past few weeks, it will wash and spin sometimes but won't spin other times and the washing comes out soaking and smelly. I have cleaned the filter, checked the pipes etc. It will spin and drain when I move it out into the middle of the kitchen and sit there holding the pipe but the smell is still there.
Anyway, Saturday we had to hunt out a laundrette (16 miles away) and take 3 loads of washing with us, costing £9 to wash alone.

I advertised on Freecycle for a spin dryer, thinking if I could at least handwash for the time being I could keep the washing pile down. Thankfully someone got in touch and said they had one going spare. Went along last night to pick it up, got my marigolds on this morning and stood handwashing, popped it in spin dryer and switched it on.

Now, although it is spinning no water was coming out of the pipe. So I went to move it outside to have a look and in the process flooded my kitchen floor when the water it had collected decided to empty out of the bottom.

Got to go and take the bottom off now and see if I can work out what is wrong with it.

My WM is only just over 2 years old and has been a nightmare since I bought it. It had a new drum after just 9 months and has a horrible dial on it which is C**P. If you have to stop it midcycle (ie when I had the water board call and had to switch my water off for them to check something) it starts the whole cycle again......not at all MS. So I am reluctant to get it repaired, I might just try and hold on until I can get another one.

The week can only get better I guess. :o One plus side is hubby started his keyworker career yesterday, so at long last things could be on the up in that area.

Sorry to rant! Hope everyone is having a good day?

    Morning all :hello:

I haven't posted on the daily thread for over a year now :o so a big hello again. It used to focus my mind on the day ahead and I found it very useful. A good habit to have. :D

Well for the first time in 25 years I have no children to look after this week! I'm feeling a bit redundant. My two 'Littlies' - DS1(13) & DD2(10) - are on school adventure holidays this week so as a SAHM I'm at a bit of a loose end.

Laying on the sofa watching daytime TV and eating chocolate are a tempting thought, but it's not going to happen. I'm planning to decorate the house in the next 4 days. Bought all the kit yesterday, so today is the day. :j

I've got a good long run at it, so today will be ceiling and cornice day. Tomorrow I'll try the walls. We have three dogs which shed an awful lot of hair so I'm wondering if I'll end up with hairy skirting boards before the week is out. Hmmm.... I'll have to think about that one a bit more.

    Well, wish me luck. :o

(psst.... perhaps I'm on here as a delaying tactic :p:D)

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

off to work soon until tomorrow evening! sleeping in. Am taking some healthy food with me as I'm not sure whats on the menu.
Had my nails rebalanced yesterday and they look great now, had a more square shape this time, might go for a french polished look next time. Its costing me a fortune but its worth it for the confidence it gives me!

Hope you all have a lovely day if possible

    take care x

  • Morning all. Snowing quite hard here this morning but thank goodness it's not settling. The sun keeps trying to peep through the clouds as well, very confusing.

I'm here waiting for the glass people to come and fix DD's car window. She was very worried about the frost and rain coming through the temporary patch we put on yesterday, not sure how we're going to dry the inside out properly. Am still seething about the little **** that did it.

So as I'm stuck here without my car today I'm going to have to do the housework whether I like it or not :rotfl: , there's a loaf in the BM already, I've done one load of washing and forgotten to switch on the second load:rolleyes: . Lunch will be HM chicken patties and OH and I have a steak treat for tea.

    Hugs to Smokey
    and hugs to everyone else

Morning everyone, hope you are all having a good day so far.
Having quite a quiet day today, going to attempt to make so laundry powder stuff from Angchris' recipe and then some playdough for LO. Need to go to Tescos too so shall have to give myself a stiff talking to about not buying c*** that I don't really need.
OH went to work with a sore back this morning, he was walking like a grandpa. He and one of his colleagues were carrying hoists (??? thought it was meant to be the other way around) at work on Friday so am wondering if he has pulled something. I'll be cross if he has to go off sick and then gets his wages docked for it, not sure what to do about it really, we are both rubbish at being confrontational and standing up for ourselves. On the other hand I guess he could have hurt himself some other way that has nothing to do with his work, but can't think of any other heavy lifting he's been doing.

Smokeybabe hope your OH is stable and improving.
Have a good day everyone, hope folks get into the schools they want.
