I think it gets better. It becomes a kind of game after a while, trying to find the right thing at the right price and sticking with the list. Okay, so sometimes I add something extra but I see that as a luxury now whereas before I'd just pop all sorts into the basket without giving them a second thought.

For example, today I put some chocolate eclairs in (the cakes, not the sweets). They weren't on the list but they were an extra little luxury for me and my daughter to enjoy. You end up appreciating those things so much more in the end, too.

Well, I know I said I wouldn't do kitchen tonight. Have steamed rest of nasty kitchen tiles off (even managed to slide washing machine out to do under there and slide back in). I have got some glue residue on my work skirt - yes, I was compulsive and didn't change clothes before I started. Even more washing tomorrow and might have to steam the skirt! Just a few bits to get out of kitchen and then tomorrow will steam off porch tiles!

Haven't heard from kitchen fitter so fingers crossed everything should arrive tomorrow. Might move Cookie the hamster upstairs - he might end up with a fitted in cage!

    Love and hugs.

My DH is retired and I still have almost 3 and a half years to go. He does all the shopping when he is here (he is away just now) and our freezer usually bulges with yellow sticker stuff. I am in the middle of a kitchen refurb and our existing freezer going under the stairs to accommodate the bargains he gets. I couldn't do without him doing this as it saves us so much money, combined with going to Lidl which is local for fresh fruit, veg etc.

Don't be disheartened, yes buy the store cupboard stuff but grab the bargains when you can.

    Love

I have to say I can't stand shopping it never gets any better for me, so i have given up and do an online shop once a week, its delivered right to my door, and its easier to look around for bargains online too

Thanks to all for your kindness and comments and thanks Squeaky.

I think my "down-ness" is a combination of yet another poor diet day and the fact that the wife went to a solicitor today to see about the seperation and aparentely, she has filed for divorce on the grounds of my unreasonable behaviour  Considering that she only told me she was leaving me a month ago, and that was the proverbial bombshell to me, I'm not surprised my head is spinning.
