  • Hi again, Its been some time since I posted (either as the "real me" or this my AE)

I just wanted to update and to say a huge thank to everyone for all the help, love and support.
I managed to log on today(obviously:o)after managing to find my login details(after trying for ages) Anyway I am here now.

    So to the update.

Our debts now stand at £1342.26p and will hopefully be cleared by the end of the year.
Being 100% honest the reason they have not totally finished is that I have been putting some money away as I must have a what if fund. I don't feel proud of myself for doing that but then again, 90+% of the debt clearance has been done by me.
Not nice I know but honest.
I still have my "proper job" and am still contracted to work 20 hours although I do more if needed.

The dressmaking has been a great way of making money and I have been lucky enough to have a full order book. I also "did out" the spare bedroom and have been able to undertake wedding orders although I was busier with prom gowns:j.

Husband situation hasn't really changed much. He has done some freelance work for the university and has co authored a paper in his field. He is still unwell but much better.

As for me, well I did speak to the GP who was very kind( I only recently saw her to my shame) she didn't think I was stupid and that helped. I am on the waiting list for therapy and am due back on Thursday when we will discuss anti depressants for me.

I am much more together. I printed the thread out and had it in my handbag. I made myself read it everyday when things were bad and every time I got the sigh and rolled eyes; The "pep talk"; The whole off you go to saddo ville(one reason why I sacked the entire MSE site:o)

As advised I DID ring the samaritains who were lovely-the first time I didn't even speak I just cried down the phone and just knowing that someone was there was such an enormous help.

I am more focused than I have been for some time.
Thankfully, I don't have any orders in at the moment and am going to have a full week of (hopefully) rest. Even if it doesn't work out quite as planned I WILL have some me time.

Now that I can get on here again, I will post the full situation and answer the beautiful PMS.
Still need to be carefull though.

Am signing off as I can hear footsteps upstairs and I really can't face another "talking to" tonight.
Thanks for all the love and support.

    Will be back soon.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi Louise,

Have just read my way through your whole thread and just wanted to say how much admiration I have got for you. To have cleared that much debt, start a new income stream and hold down a job while having that level of stress in your life is unbelievable, well done.

I don't have much constructive to add, apart from I am pleased you are managing to seek help and have made it back on here. Please, please keep trying to do that at least.

Lots of hugs and respect from here, really hope things pick up for you xx

Hi Louise. I'd just like to add my thoughts to your very courageous thread. I've read it from the beginning and it's wonderful to see the change in you from your first panicky posts to the last one where you sound so much more in control of yourself and your future.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a 'what if' fund. You have to look after yourself and if having put some money by gives you that security, then why not.

You have managed to get your debt down a huge amount in such a short space of time, pretty much by yourself from what I am reading. You should be so proud of your achievement.

Please do pursue the idea of therapy....it will be YOUR time and you will not be judged. It is not a magic cure-all, but it may just build up your confidence again so you can rebuild your life and future.

I think a lot of OHs have the same view of this site (or other forums) and possibly it is insecurity on their part? They don't know what is being said (maybe about them, but maybe not) and it might just be that that is making him react in an unkind way when you come on here.

Please do keep us updated as you have done such a fantastic job up until now. I'd love to read one of your posts some day soon that says "I'm debt free....."

    Take care of yourself. x
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T

    Hi LM

Not sure if you will be able to respond to the PM's - there was a change on the site that meant that users with a low post count couldn't send PM's. I think you may be affected by this until the post count is a little higher.

Glad to see you around though. You definately sound much more together and stronger.

You don't need to apologise for anything. Alot of people prefer to have a cushion or fund in their finances that enables them to deal more effectively with anything unexpected that comes up. I know i do.

Glad we're not sacked, but whoever made you feel like a "saddo" should be. Everyone here has problems of one kind or other. That's how we are able to advise others on how to avoid the pitfalls we ended up in. You're allowed to be human, cry, scream and shout - you don't need our or anyone elses permission to do so.

I'm also glad you'll be getting help from the doctor. And making some 'you' time is definately a good idea. Don't want you hiding away or anything, but 'you' are important and should always remember that.

Hopefully see you around a bit more.
    Take Care. xoxo

Louisemarie, I know this may sound bonkers when you feel so tired, but I find it helpful to get up an hour before anyone else to get some 'me' time. It was easier as the house was quiet and I could make myself a brew and a fag and just think my thinks.
It helped me so much,I don't know if it would help you, but I'll throw it out there.
Sending you much hugs, it sounds like you are doing a fantastic job in very difficult circumstances.
