There's a good american craft site with step by step instructions on 'How To make a Gatefold Card' here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/gate_fold_card
with a gallery of lots of examples:

You ladies have forced me to buy Lets Make Cards today!!! I've been so inspired looking at your lovely cards I thought I'd make more of an effort to make more of mine (I used to make all my cards but now pick and choose who to make for
). I nearly fainted when I saw the magazine was £8 but when I opened it up I felt like a kid in a sweet shop as there was so much stuff with the magazine. So I've got knives and forks like you now bunbun! :T

I have turned into a right magpie now - not with gold and jewels but paper. I get excited over a nice pattern or pretty colours!0

it is expensive but there is alot of stuff in it. I haven't built up a stash of card and papers so it is nice to get everything you need - plus I still need ideas and guidance:D
rainmac I shall look forward to seeing what you do with your knives and forks:rotfl:
I have made a few cards from the magazine but I only have so many birthdays and events to make cards for so I have just decided to pinch the idea of making cards and putting them in a box for my mum for Christmas. she like sending cards ( any event and she buys a card for it!) so hope she will appreciate a few hand made cards. thanks to melissa for this great idea:Dsaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Heres my entry for this week's challenge:
was a quick 'knock-up job' this morning as i'm busy rest of the week! i'm still mostly pinching decorative bits off old cards at the mo, till my ebay and handy hippo bits arrivei've also just noticed my cutting is a bit wibbly and shabby :rotfl: its not the most exciting card in the world but i couldn't think what else to do!!
ps i'm resizing and its still coming out huge?! i'm missing something here.....Disneyworld Florida in August 2011 :jLost so far: 0 lbs of 4stMother of beautiful son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy0 -

Like your card toniwoty and the size is good as you can see the detail.
Your cutting can't be any worse than mine, I think it makes my cards look more homemade :rotfl: ! Joking aside, I bought an A4 size paper trimmer from Poundland last week for yep, a £1. Blade will probably blunt quickly but for £1 I don't mind!!! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Hi and welcome mama67. Love your cards I checked out your blog - very impressive! I don't know how you managed to make that many xmas cards, I tend to make a few special ones, and then (dare I say it), buy the rest!0
