I've been a lurker on this thread for a while now and finally got round to making a few cards myself.
Can you let me know what you think?

Hi toniwoty lovely cards and welcome to the thread :j Have you posted your cards through photobucket? If so when you have uploades your pic theres a resize button click on it and resize to messege board i think thats how you do it :rotfl:
  • thanks polly! i'm currently trying out different effects with wedding invitations, decided to make my own as we cannot afford £600 or so on the stationery so i will post my first few attempts later. i'm starting with invitations but all in all i need to make 90 invitations, 90 rsvp postcards, 90 thank you cards 50 placecards and 6 menu cards.
i've found a website www.handyhippo.co.uk - which looks quite reasonably priced, has anyone got any experience of ordering from them? and could anyone tell me if their prices are reasonable? i'm new to this so don't know how much things cost!
have to say i''m always very impressed with everyone's cards on this thread - thats what inspired me with my invites!

Hi tonywoty im making wedding invites for my friends wedding next year im doing a few samples at the moment. Ive started getting alot of my craft stuff from ebay and from my local craft shop i really recomend ebay for bulk wedding craft stuff.
  • thanks polly. funny enough i have been looking at ebay - i wanted to buy some of the Wedding invitation banners - found the peel offs a litte too fiddly for impatient old me!!! although i found the packs a handy hippo to be slightly cheaper than most on ebay - for what i wanted anyway but toppers and stuff are much cheaper on ebay.
does anyone know where i could find some 'thank you' vellum? i've searched ebay but its come back with nothing.

ToniWoty...if your sticking the Velum down its cheaper to use tracing paper and looks just as good. Its not suitable to wrap as it curls
If you go a couple of pages back I did a big post ith loads of links in.
Imagination are very good for peel offs and peel off pens
If you dont like to use peel offs cards can easy be printing with your wording rather than using them and it gives a much better proffesional finish
I have done about 30 weddings now so anyway I can help I will
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel
