Thanks BB and missyg - welcome back!!!

I think I am gonna take both of your advice...and try not to gain anymore....whilst having small targets of maybe 0.5lb losses a week...I am at uni for just under 2 months now..then I am finished forever! I know that when it is over I will be able to work more harder on losing the weight, exercise and healthy eating....

So I will start weighing in again for next months chart...

vix- I agree it is hard doing both, especially because the pressure of uni is making me miserable...I can't wait till its ova...I am just gonna try and stop the upward binge...and gaining anymore...! Thanks hun

    Thanks again guys

Oh eggs, oh chocolate, oh dear. :o

It was my birthday on Thursday - a hazard successfully negotiated with no particular eating associated - but Easter eggs have been attacking me. Hoping for a sts this week but not confident.

    Belated birthday greetings granny.
I know I said in my last post that I would get on here more often. But we have had a bereavment this week.

I decided yesterday that after midnight last night I would not eat chocolate. I have gone mad on it recently. Have realized its not so much a craving as a compulsion. Im not supposed to eat it anyway as it causes me to have a poorly tummy and my liver plays up. I do have a few stratergies if I get the urge which is more likely to happen at work. Anyway this is day one. Not able to get to gym till Friday this week. At work tomorrow and Wednesday then funereal on Thursday.

    Suggs Have a great time

Missyg Sounds like you had a great time.

    Happy Easter everyone.

Sorry folks, there is now some space in my PM box so send me those email addresses if you're interested in the meet!

Sorry to hear uni is taking it out of you Vix and Qt, focus on what is important to you now.
Missy, glad you had such a great time skiing! No worries about the gain, you know what to do.
Suggs, have a wonderful time in Hongkong and hope you feel fully better soon.

As for me, I'm still working my way through the next stage of my journey. I had a big long message written in my head but find I don't have the energy to write it down now. I will perhaps get round to sharing it with you in time.

I'd like to mention a book I've just started reading called 'Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters - the Frightening New Normality of Hating Your Body'. Although it is based on Americans and is aimed at the 9-25 age range, it talks of a worldwide issue affecting both sexes and older generations. Some of it definitely resonates strongly with me and, I think, with the stories that some of you have shared on here. If you're interested in the psychology affecting weight gain, it might be worth getting a copy from your local library. Here's a quote to think on: 'If the average woman spends about an hour a day contemplating her size, her calorie intake and her exercise regimen starting at 12 and lives for 85 years, she will have lost over three years of her life.' I for one have spent a whole lot more than an hour each day doing this!

GN, happy belated birthday from me too!
Boddy, sorry to hear of your bereavement, hugs.

Hi Boddy: sorry to hear of your bereavement. Re the chocolate compulsion, I have a friend who has had amazing sucess with EFT and chocolate.(Google EFT - it's a sort of hypnosis thingy) She only had one session (about £50) and to her amazement has completely lost the desire for chocolate - and believe me, she compulsively needed it too. Then last week on BBC2's prog on hypnosis, another woman was significantly helped with her chocolate craving too: and she came across as a reliable witness. I also know someone else who has help with an emotional issue with EFT. So just thought I'd pass it on..Vix and QT: A difficult 2 months ahead but then it is all over for good. It will then be summer and warm(optimism:)) and focussing on weight loss will be a lot easier. Sorry uni is stressing youout so much - it does at this stage I'm afraid, so you are 'normal'. Last year OH was doing this so I know, and if I cast my mind back far enough, I remember for myself too. I hate exams and deadlines for stuff you are not that interested in. It was years before I returned to study, but this time something I really enjoyed and that makes a difference (and thank goodness I did return - I met Mr BB at uni 6 years ago:))Granny, I can't give you multicloured birthday wish, as I have yet to sort computer (progress imminent on this though). BUt hope it was a good one.x

    Hi BB. Re EFT

I actually did Level 1 EFT last year. He asked us to take something we craved and I took chocolate. At the time it worked and I could not eat that bar. But I just started eating it again and only did the EFT now and then. I am doing Level 2 EFT soon. I will have a chat with him about it. In the meantime I will use it as much as I can and see what happens. Will post how I get on. Dont think Ive been determined enough before.

Hello, can i join in this thread please? I have lost 9lbs since 5th January but i have put on 2 stone in the last 5 years so my target is to lose the whole 28lb so 19lb left!

I am going on holiday in 10 weeks time and would really like to have lost another 13lb to get down to 8 stone before i go.

I am only 5ft 1 so that might sound light to some people, I have just managed to squeeze myself back into size 10 although still a size 12 in some clothes.

If i get to 8st and am happy with my shape i will probably stick with that otherwise will want to lose the other 6lb too.

Just need the extra support as finding it harder now.
