Right
Starting weight as of today is 14st 11lbs (!) so I am basically about the same now as I was mid January. Hardly wonderful but at least I am not heavier.
Now that I have reduced working hours will try to get more walking back into the equation as that has been sadly lacking these last 4 months or so. Walked about 4 miles yesterday so that is a start (would have been better if I did not follow it with chocolate, chips etc at night...). Would get on with trying to dig the garden if only the snow would stop.
Have read back about 4 pages but will be here all day if I try to go further back. Suffice to say welcome all newbies, congratulations all losers and maintainers and I will try not to fade in and out of the thread so much next time
Love Katyk0 -
Hi Katyk (and everyone).
I know what you mean about fading in and out. Once a week (for posting) is the minimum I aim at - though I try to do more
happy easter everyone - we did without eggs but my OH got me a bar of chilli chocolate - trouble is once I had one square I just had to eat the rest of the bar to keep the burn going (honestly I didn't have a choice with this one - :A NOT)
well done SUGGS - you will love Hong Kong - I went there when I was just dating my OH to meet her parents for the first time - would have been a big issue (literally) if they didn't like me
Anyway Granny please log me for a 3lb loss (obviously the chocolate hasn't kicked in yet)I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
Hi all,
Hope everyone is well...I haven't been able to read up on the hundreds of pages I have missed....sorry granny for not putting ma weight down for the last two weeks... I have been extremely bad and havent done any exerise for the last two weeks..I reckon I have put on about 7lb....which would make me heavier than I was before I started...so I am feeling quite low....I think I need to take a break from the losing weight cos of the pressure from uni...I have sooo much work to do and because I am so agitated I am eating loads....
So I don't know what advice yall can give me....
Thanks for listening

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well. I'm back from my skiing trip, it was fab but best of all it was FREE!
Now the bad news, I've had a horrendous weight gain in the last 2 weeks, 8lb on!!!!! I had built up a buffer before going away but not as much as that, so I'm back on the lose weight trail again!
My mistake was obviously thinking that 7+ hours of intense skiing on all but one day would be enough to balance out bigger breakfasts and evening meals (skipped lunch every day - far too busy whizzing around!) and snacking on sweets and cakey things which I don't do at home.
A pity the gain had to be so massive, but I will deal with it and learn from it.
I'm now going to attempt to read back through the week's worth of posts I've missed!0 -
Welcome back missyg, glad you had a good time.

hey, welcome back missyg:) I'm sure you'll soon get rid of that 8lbs. The important thing is you had a good time. maintaining is about enjoying life to the full and reigning in on 'normal' days. And is you had built in some lee-way, is it the full 8lbs you need to lose?QT: although life will always have it stresses, I do think you need to prioritise and focus on your college work, as long as the weight issue doesn't make you really miserable and that has any knock on effect in other areas in your life. Perhaps try and maintain where you are now as a goal and not put any more on: would that be possible? How much longer have you got at college?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

good to hve you back katyk. Sounds like you have been sorting othe areas of your life that have been very important. I really hope you are happier in your new job - there is no doubt that will help wih the weight loss, as will building in more activity. Suggs, have a grrreat time in Hong Kong. Hope you get to really relax and forget all the stresses back in the uk for a while. You deserve to.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

Been reading back through pages of posts to catch up! Hello to the new people, look forward to getting to know you.
Sorry to see a few people have been struggling in the last week, it's good that we have this place to share, and I don't know about others but I always find it really helpful when someone posts something that I can relate to.
Petrichor, to only fluctuate through 2lb in the whole year to date is a stunning achievement so well done!
Bails & BB fabulous helpful posts from you two as always... how are things now Bails? If I feel stuck in a rut myself I change something, sometimes it's not even a major change but just enough to make me feel as though I'm trying a new approach.
Suggs, enjoy Hong Kong, I thought you would already be gone by the time I got back but I obv got the dates wrong! Look forward to hearing about it! Sorry about the trials and tribulations at home, it can't help when you're feeling below par healthwise as well. Hopefully the trip will be just what you need.
Vix - belated congrats on doing the run. You have about the same number of bras as I have garments of clothing (excluding undies) :rotfl:
QT2006 - snap, big gain for me in the past 2 weeks also. My advice is not to take a break from the diet, as 7lb is a lot easier to get back off than a stone or more if things keep heading upwards. What about setting yourself small targets to get the 7lb back off - maybe break it down into the number of weeks before uni finishes for the summer or aim for 0.5lb loss a week? Or as BB says, maintaining for a while would still be a positive step too.
Thanks FFMHope all's going well with you!
BB, you're absolutely right, and crazy though it may sound I'm looking forward to proving to myself that I can lose the weight again! I'm not going to go off on a massive quest to lose it immediately, but just do what I was doing before and aim for 1-2lb off a week. Ideally yes I would like to lose the whole 8lb... but there's no rush and 4lb will do for starters.
Forgot to mention that while the weight took a hit, at least my MSE-ness didn't - I brought back more than half my spending money!0 -
Welcome back missyg I missed you so much
Try not to worry about the gain, Firstly it's important to have a good time, we know we can lose the weight, so sometimes its good to enjoy ourselves and if the weight comes on, so what!! We can always lose it againSecondly and going by experience, the body in a different climate and doing a different exercise may store some additional weight 'just in case' so this may also have added to the weight, this tends to go after a few days back to normal. Thirdly my body hates flying, and always hold on, so maybe this happened to you to?
Hope we are all doing good, went to the gym today, so feeling good at the moment, This time tomorrow I hope to be at Heathrow. Back next Monday night and lord only knows what my weight will be then. Coldwise I hope finges crossed its going, I feel ok at the moment, but it always seems to grab hold of me later in the day. So we wait in hope
Hope we are all having a good day off

Hi guys.
I feel really fat. On friday i had a mcdonalds for lunch, in the evening i had a harvester mealsaturday i had a fry up dinner and sunday i ate a roast with chocolate chocolate chocolate. Today ive had frosties and a kit kat, and a kinder egg and some butter puffs! I wonder how many calories ive piled onto my hips from those mistakes! I went to work today, hope i get double pay! It was dead till lunch time (started at 9) No rest for the wicked.
Suggs: Have a good time in hong kong. Never a place ive really wanted to go to. Its always semi scared me. Heaven knows why. You will have to show me some pics!
Missyg: glad you had a good time on your free holiday. Lucky moo. You probably put the 8lb on through muscle. Must really take it out of you skiing about.
qt2006: Were in the same boat dont worry. Ive been taken off the chart so i can concentrate fully on my uni stuff. Im going to re focus on weight loss when my last of the exams are over. I dont think you can do both. Being a student is a 24/7 job when you get to the end!0
