Thank you Granny for the chart and well done to all the losers (winners!).

Especially well done to Kymrob and Ampersand for your excellent loss. :j

Vix - congratulations on your 2 years and 5 months anniversary. Hope you have a great day.

Wendyw1947 - isn't it annoying when you stick to your eating plan then go off it before weigh-in. I must admit I always feel a bit anxious (and that causes me to eat) before I weigh myself each week, and regardless of whether I have gained or not it feels a relief to start the week afresh on a clean slate after the weigh in. You have done so well in losing that weight in the first place. Do you need to make adjustments to your eating so you don't feel like you are depriving yourself? As Kymrob said she allows herself 2 packets of crisps a week which I thought was really good advice. I think I will try that. Anyway, what do I know, I'm rubbish at losing weight. Have a big hug anyway, and start again. :grouphug: You're in good company on this board.

Being full of self-justification(such a nasty trait), I'm adding this(as just posted on OS):

'Adding to this for reasons below - watched with amusement the Mass Strip-off of Extraneous garments at WW pre-weigh last night.
Realised just now that I kept peplum cardie and shoes on, so:mad: .
    ............and they weigh 665gms!

    Now, that IS OCD.

:j Well done kymrob SOTW AGAIN :D :j and thank you for the time and effort that you put into doing the chart granny  ...

...Welcome Kunster welcoehithernicetomeetyzz9.gifWe have quite a few men on here now and some students too. Well done for deciding to tackle your excess weight before it gets to be too much of a problem:j . There is a wealth if info on the internet that will help you, but some the basics to help start you off are:- to trim off visible fat from any meat, grill rather than fry, eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, avoid unecessary sauces that are cream/oil based, switch to skimmed or semiskimmed milk - you do get used to it honest:D . Don't deny yourself of all the things that you like otherwise you'll soon give up, it really is a case of switching to healthy eating and this will stay with you for the rest of your life. Are you in a position to be able to prepare your own food, or are you dependent on others? We are all following a variety of plans so if you stay with us you'll soon have more information than you'll know what to do with!!;) Good luck, you'll soon find a method that suits you:j ...

...Following on from my post yesterday, I was sorting through my weights for this year and found that my weight has fluctuated through 2lb max, but I'm only 1lb heavier than I was 31/12, I hadn't realised I'd been so good:o ...

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

    Hi Kym,

Ampersand posted this on another thread as a result of her WW's meeting last night - hope it helps ;););) !!!

Totally pointless facts from WW tonight.
Eat a 200gm Lindt choc bunny - needs 4 years of brisk walking to 'undo' it.
Next one, to walk off even one M&M, one brisk circuit of a standard football field is necessary.
As for Cadbury's creme eggs, do you really want to spend 21 YEARS on exercise to undo 6?
Some of these 'facts' smelt of MediGoogle - but still.
Upon which cheery note(esp. as I LOATHE

I am sorry but I cant let this happen

With the first example, typically 100g of Chocolate is 550 calories, therefore 200g is 1100 calories
A brisk walk, according to the Bupa Website burns 300 calories per hour for a 60 kg person, therefore it would take 3 hours and 40 minutes to undo it, not 4 years! unless of course you want to spread it out over 4 years.

    A Cadburys creme egg is 174 calories, multiply by 6 - 1044calories.

Not having a pop at you Mum, but the information seems so so wrong and I would love to understand how and why these figures were arrived at. Information is good, it can be helpful, but incorrect information is bad.

I will now step of the soapbox.......................

Suggs, full of cold, feeling rotten (still not manflu!), at home trying to work from home, but cant be bothered.

well chuffed!! got sotw again but efrieze lose 5.5 so she is really sotw!!

Whilst is is very sweet of you to share, I actually GAINED 5.5 lbs this week (well over the last 3 weeks really) so no, I am not SOTW but I am GOTW (gainer of the week). Not for long though....I went to the gym yesterday and instead of just swimming as usual, I went into the gym bit of the gym (!) and went on the machines for a bit. I didn't overdo it but I have been motivated by the US TV show 'The Biggest Loser' which I have been watching recently and thought that if they can do it, I can. So I went onto the treadmill and was impressed with myself. I only did 13 minutes (power walking, jogging, running walking again) before my swim but I was amazed that I could jog at a reasonable speed without stopping for a few minutes. I know it's not much for some, but it was an achievement for me and my stomach muscles feel exercised this morning too - no pain, no gain.

    Hello Suggs,
Please don't berate mot - it was my post and I did write 'facts' in parentheses reflecting my cynicism. Further, I called it MediGoogle, to which I'll now add MediBurble, about which modern self-diagnosing trends a GP writes with delicious corruscating wit in The Times of a Saturday.

mot played no part in my writing. I listened with healthy scepticism and people-watched many stuffing down their expensively bought snacks, as they nodded away with squirrel-bulging cheeks(upper storeyl:rolleyes:)

Also, please note I reported what was said - not that it is so.
    My disbelief was the catalyst!
One was in parentheses, the other was not - done nowsalute.gif.
