KPC - I move into my new house in a couple of weeks and was thinking of growing some potatoes too - but had heard about creepy crawlies getting into them  do you have any ideas how to stop that please?Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

We are a varied bunch and I found that that helped me enormously, it's so nice to read of the different ways that can be done to tackle any setbacks that seem to befall us once in a while. I'm sure you'll find all the help you need :j

Great to read your post BB, I enjoyed your thoughts as always
I don't have a range, just an upper limit of 8.25 stone. I've been comfortably under it for weeks now, ever since I moved it down from 8.5 stone. I do still state whether I've gained or lost, that's important to me, but this way I feel there is no expectation that I will stay the same every week - I know I won't, so attempting to do so is setting myself up for failure. I tried it, and it made me miserable every week when my weight was different (gain or loss).
We do absolutely need to find what works for us individually as you say, and mine has it's share of downsides. I still sometimes feel like my way is cheating. I don't like feeling like I'm the only one who can't stay the same at least most weeks (big respect to those of you who do manage it). I still feel a sense of shame when my friends 'commiserate' if I gain, when I'd rather they shared my satisfaction of still being firmly under target (and yes I have told them this).
Those are minor niggles though compared to the sense of confidence and flexibility this method gives me at the moment. I've worked hard to lose 3 stone and I want to enjoy it, I don't want my maintaining to carry the same or more pressure/stressing than losing the weight did.
I'm not as good at articulating my thoughts as some of you are! Hope that explains a bit of where I'm coming from though.
Oops - out of time - I'll try to pop back a bit later and catch up with everything else xx0 -
Great news victory0

Well after last weeks madness, I had a near normal week workwise and no rugby match, I am Happy to report a 2lb loss happy as I have some leeway for the England v Ireland Rugby match at Twickenham :T I will be taking MrsSuggs (she wants to go!) as it is our 1st Anniversary of living toghether, poor thing, how she puts up with me I dont know. Alot has happened in the last year, some great,s ome good and some not so good. But its all good in the end. Officaly the move in day was March 17th, but this weekend is just as good.
Oddly I just heard that St Patricks Day is offically tomorrow for this year, as the celebrations cannot be during holy week. Now I have Irish Parents and they haven't mentioned it me. Is this true?
Missyg your words echo, my sentiments too. Having lost 12stone I do not want to slip down the slippy slope I managed once before. Your spot on with 'different strokes for different folks' I still need to be harsh on me. I hope that in time I will ease off. Last week, although I was ill etc, I seemed to put on weight. This week, I lost, but I am happy as I want to enjoy my trip to Twickenham tomorrow, and my trip to Hong Kong in 10 days timePerhaps if you gain, can you remind the 'forgetful' ones i.e. me that you still within your target range. Great that your doing so well. You little escapade onto Ebay got me moving and sorting clothes, some for the chairty shop, some for ebay, add to that the old mobile and I made £100 this week :j Have more t shirts and polo shirts to sort this weekend
Cant remember who asked, but the night skyline of Hong Kong Island from the Kowlon side is what I cant wait to see. Its been 3 years since I have been. I am actually getting excited
Right back to work

marion, that story was brill! really made me laugh.
mot I have never grown spuds before so have no idea how to keep bugs off em - we'll have to find out together.
interesting thoughts on maintaining there. One day . . . . .
the whole office just had fishand chips. I stuck with chips and mushy peas. Still need to keep syns down tomorrow, but there was no way i could have not done it. I'd have ended up going on the way home and getting a masive amount and making myself ill with it.
Welcome frugalfifer!
suggs, the vatican have moved st patricks day because next week is holy week and you cannot celebrate a feast day in holy week. It apparently last happened in 1940, and will happen again in 2410! or so i read anyway. I get v irritated by st patricks day celebrations as it is taken totally over the top in England - where you struggle to find a St George's Day celebration at all!0 -
Thnk you a million times over for all the posts about how happy you all are for me;) life is a bit strange I would say because you would have thought it would now be :j :j :j :j but so far, in the last day it has been  , I haven't been out, spoken to anyone(all the family know obviously delighted) just been in bed crying quite a lot, I guess it is the come down, no pleasing some people :rotfl: :rotfl: yes I am going to look at the books when my lousy hormones repair themselves to some stability and appreciate how very very lucky I am:rotfl: :rotfl: because I am very lucky, I should know that.
Re the maintaining that has to be the hardest thing I have done, now I don't think so much that I am going to put it all back on, that this is temporary as I did think for a long time, I have changed the thinking to 'if I keep an eye on it and don't let more than say 1lb or 2 creep back on I can be like this now for life and have a fighting chance of keeping it off forever' I know I can do it but it can be a daily struggle to not give in, to not have more, but on the other hand I have learnt not to be hungry, to enjoy what I eat, to look forward to it, to not boredom eat, to treat weekends as days in the week not a cue to scoff , to enjoy the odd treat but not have a full blow out, just one or 2 slices is better to have than half the loaf, I certainly have learnt a lot about me, the way I act and think about food, the way it can be kept off, it can be done it takes a huge amount of lists, willpower, determination and strength to keep it that way and sometimes, so long as a gain does not overwhelm you and you can fight it back everyone will win the hard slog;)0 -
Victory
It takes a while to realise how lucky you are. Don't beat yourself up over it,
The crying is the release valve (very necessary luv)
You will handle it all in your own way, it is the only thing that you can do and you will do it well.
Take care luv
