Back on OH's laptop for a bit Hurrah! Loads to catch up on but not enough energy to repond to you all. Welldone bunter on the job: all down to your perseverance:T .
Efrieze - this maintaining malarky just ain't straight forward is it. (And you're right not to change places on the chart until you are ready.)
Because of recent discusion about us maintainers which you initiated with your honesty, and peeps like delly saying how helpful it is when we are so, I made myself own up to 1lb on this week, but I am suprised how difficult it is to do so. I certainly now understand better the panic/fear that Victory/Suggs/pet etc have expressed over any weight gain what so ever. But we each need to find what suits us individually. I'm finding that I really do need to say when I put on a lb or two. Having a range, which 'as long as I don't go outside it qualifies as a sts', isn't working for me, but is working brilliantly (slightly adapted)for missyg.
I find it hard to believe I can keep this weight off. I've said before, I feel confident of not putting 2 stone on, it's more the insidious creep of half a stone+ that I fear (and 'fear' feels too strong a word but you know what I mean). But so far, I seem to put a bit on, but do pull it back. These last couple of weeks I have found it harder not to have a few too many treats and I haven't been able to drop back that 1 extra lb to my 'perfect' weight but been going up and down 2-3 lbs above it. I have felt that this was a begining of the upward creep: that I would get used to never seeing that lower number again, then it would go up another lb and I would gradually get used/accept that too. With great relief and some astonishment, the scales this morning showed I had dropped 2lbs and am back to my perfect weight (that's not for the chart granny). That feels good. I guess it is always a case of constant vigulance, in the context of allowing once self to live and have foody treats, but then back to the regime in between. Don't be embarrased by big gain/big loss alternating weeks Efreize. The important bit is it does come back off again. It sounds good that you have begun to see your self as a maintainer - your body have found it's level and you aren't going to beat yourself up by not being able to go lower.
I really look foreward to more of you peeps reaching goal and us all showing each other we can do this.
Marion - your quark treat sounds great and I will give it a go when I can get hold of some of the scan brans. Fantastic you are so close to your 1st 100 lbs.:j I really admire the perseverance of you and others who have a lot to lose - that's real sticking power and proves the imprortance of short term goals.
Don't completely agree with the water thing. It is good to drink water, but scientifically, the original premise of us needing 2 litres a day was completely mis-quoted from the report which adds: and 80% (of a similar high %)of this we get from the food we eat. Too much large bulk fluid intake at any one time floods the kidneys and puts them under great stress. Our bodies are amazing and are designed well to take the fluid we need from the food we eat and get rid of waste.
Vix, glad delly was around for you and glad you could ask for help. What a great forum we have here:T

Well - where be the rock that's big enough to hide the fool who's just returned from her fool's errand?
I HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM WHAT WAS TO BE MY INAUGURAL WEIGHT-LOSS WEIGH-IN, BUT WENT ON THE WRONG NIGHT.
    IT WAS YESTERDAY.
Phoned Leader and asked if I might weigh at Surgery tomorrow, at least semi-officially [The answer's yes, but No, can't be recognised - fair enough.] I'll be there for 4th try in as many days for ECG - it works on everyone else, pas moi.
    No heart, I suppose.
I am disappointed not to have numbers to report.
    Next Wednesday then...........

awwww ampersand! but v impressed you admitted it - i wouldn't.

came home really bummed today - have been co-opted into being in a fashion show for the wi next week and had to go to the clothes shop today. not good. clothes just do not suit me. I'm going to look so middleaged it's not even funny. I like the hat but thats it. Matters were not helped by the nice lady saying things like 'one of the other models is the same size as you but as she's tall . . .' and then waving her hands about in an oh so expressive way.

So came home really p'd off but stayed out of the biscuits cos i knew it wouldn't help. And now i read Victory's news and I'm ashamed of myself for being so childish about something that doesn't matter a jot. I'm so very pleased for you Victory - hope you don't see this till late tomorrow because you are too busy celebrating.

Thanks for the tips on gardening poohbear and seren via pm. I shall go off and buy some seed spuddies v soon. That water thing - 4l!?!?!?!?!? thats an awful lot of water. I'm managing 1.5l which still has me running to the loo every five minutes - i'd probably drown myself if i drank 3 litres.

vix, i must dig out an old email for you . . . it was one of those 'you know you're old when . . ' things. Amongst them were things like

you keep old trainers because they're 'good for gardening'
you leave pubs and clubs early to avoid the rush
Radio 2 plays great music and Jeremy Vine has some brilliant guests
you choose pubs based on hanging baskets and roast dinners, not happy hours
you have more disposable income than ever . . . . but everything you want costs £500
you stop thinking 'one day i'll play for arsenal' and start thinking 'one day my son will play for arsenal'.

    night all

Ampersand - oh no!!! Reminds of the time that my parents and i came home a day early from our holiday to attened this birthday party, rushed to get back for it, got ready and went to the venue to be told that i was a day early. Embarassing situation number 2! Or 3 cos ive not told the homebase car park story, save that one for a rainy day :p I used to have ECG's when i was a wee child. It was on my brain and i had to have all this horrible gel in my hair. I thank god himself that i was a child and not a teenager, i cant go into hospital for more than one night else my hair will be rubbish for the next day. I have heard since that they dont use gel anymore. Good luck with it though, i used to find them facinating, which i guess you do at that age.

And here I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that. I actually went to the wrong funeral once. :o It was at the crematorium and I was late arriving so just slipped in through the door and took a seat at the back. I then noticed that I didn't recognise anyone in the room and started getting several strange looks from the rest of the congregation, obviously trying to figure out who I was! I knew I was in the wrong one when I saw the coffin with Grandad written with flowers - I was supposed to be at a womans funeral.

So there I sat, pondering on what to do! There were only about 15 other people there and they were all glancing back at me. Obviously wondering who I was, why was I there and how did I know the deceased! I didn't want to embarass myself by waiting till the end and explaining my mistake so when the music started at the end of the service I slipped out.

To this day I often think of the family members wondering if Grandad had a bit on the side!!

    Goodnight all
