How come i hear people telling me that theyre pc/laptop crashed due to vista, its not very stable if it keeps crashing
Because they are mostly (not always) clueless morons who don't know what they are talking about, and because it is 'cool' to Vista bash.
It is extremely rare for Vista to crash of its own accord.0 -

I've been running vista for six months or so now on my laptop. No problems at all. Hasnt crashed yet.
Maybe you just dont hear people saying their laptop hasnt crashed on this forum.0 -

Just BS from MS-haters, my Vista laptop runs as reliably as my XP laptop and Desktop. I have never had a crash on my Vista laptop (actually, only had one crash between both XP machines as far back as I can remember, and it was my fault for messing with a running program).
Don't believe everything the Apple fan boys and the Linux hobby boys write, they would still rubbish Vista if was proven to be 100% reliable. Resentment because their OS can't scrape together 5% of the world market runs deep with them.====0 -
I think I'm gonna crash!
To bed that is.:p0 -
I must admit my Vista systems, (3pc one lappy) all take about half the RAM available, only the old Dell laptop with 512mb takes about 80%, I just need to tone down the Aero to make it run quicker, just not so pretty to look at.There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0

I swap between vista and xp regularly. Not had any issues with Vista, its been fine.
I think if your buying a new computer and it comes with Vista, don't worry about it, it works. If you already have XP don't bother moving to Vista, your not missing much. Not sure what else you can say.0 -

You don't have to defame other peoples choices to big up your own.
Driving a Ford Focus doesn't mean there isn't a market for a Caterham 7 or a Aston Martin. Most Ford Focus drivers are willing to admit they'd like to have a Super 7 but don't like tinkering under the bonnet and most would like an Aston Martin but don't have pockets deep enough to appreciate the design. The existence of these other cars doesn't mean that the Ford Focus is not a very good all round affordable family car chosen by families in the UK. Same goes for Vista.
Just because you don't have 90% of a market doesn't mean you have a duff product.
Just because you do have a near monopoly 90% of a market probably allows you to ship substandard product.
Microsoft has about 90% of the market and Vista about 12% so lets see if it stands the test of time. Or is our choice a bit like the Russian election choice.
Its just horses for courses.
Linux is not a hobby, the majority of internet business is done on Linux servers. Apple fans are too busy happily, productively, creatively using their stuff to bother getting into the debate.
I for one won't pay for Vista. Unless it's bundled with a new PC. And even then I won't like it.
(I have all three op sys in use in the house BTW.)0 -

I cannot believe there are still people using the 1980s phrase "Apple Fan Boys". Blimey are you still at school trading insults in the playground?
I assume you lump those together with the crazed people who queued up for the launch of Vista? Show me one obsessive on one platform, and I'll show you one on another.
Equally one assumes you'll consider a massive proportion of the internet to be run by Linux "Hobby boys" too. Resentment certainly must run deep with you.
Resentment must also "run deep" with Apple, currently one of the most successful companies in the World.
Oh and for the record, I use and have pretty much used every OS available for the past 20 years. Nor am I a MS hater, a Mac fanboy, a Linux hobby boy or any other defamatory comment you can dig up.
I use all regularly, and all have pros and cons. Nothing is perfect.0
