Well the cited document does say -
Information as to which of Tesco’s forecourts currently use
Greenergy fuels and thus biofuel blends is not available at present.
This seems to indicate that it is, at best, misleading to state that "Tesco use Greenergy as their supplier, which has nothing to do with the major oil companies."0 -
All the main petrol retailers, Shell, BP, Total, Texaco, Esso, etc, refuse to dilute their fuels with ethanol, which tells me a lot.
I assume that you are unaware of the Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation which starting April 2008 requires 2.5% of road fuel to be biofuel (i.e. ethanol and similar in petrol), increasing by 2010 to 5%.
Combine that with the fact that if the amount of ethanol in petrol is less than 5% they don't have to tell you, and I will let you work out whether petrol from Shell, BP, Total, Texaco, Esso, etc does have biofuel in it.0 -

Exactly. They're not going to transport fuel all the way from Teeside to London when there's refineries that are nearer.0 -
However, just because two tankers come from the same distribution depot does not mean that they have the same fuel in them.
I'd guess that the supermarkets negotiate a supply deal via a 3rd party who then task the existing suppliers to deliver the fuel to whatever specification they require.Happy chappy0 -

Tescos would be terminally stupid to 'water' down their fuel the scandal would cripple them. This is the sort of hoax story that gullible people like to believe because it's great to think a large company has been caught out.
A very stupid and potentially libellous post that damages the credibility of mechanics more than it does Tescos.0
