Well i for one think you're doing great, wish i was as .good at my weekly budgetting as you are. Although saying that i have been better since joining MSE, i'm trying to save as much as i can for this time next year toopostingalwaysposting wrote: »Btw who is that cute pig in your avatar?
It's mine, cutie isn't it hehe, was the one which i got from Clintons. I'm up to almost £80 in it now and it's not even half full (20p coins and under) so it can hold quite a lot.
Are you still saving yours?0 -
isom ~ Cant say I saw you waving hun but i knew you would. Yep looked at laser therapy but its £1k for 3 sessions here and they said it wouldnt work as its hormonal. I am not to bothered anyways as I have better things to spend my cash on
Yep bristol is lush in spring but autumn is so depressing here
babes ~ You will get there. I am only fab at weekly budgets because I have seen how devistating budgets can be. Mse does help a lot I agree. Ohhh whats happening next year? I am just saving as you do, although I do want to go traveling somewhere sometime.
Aww he is sooo cute *pap you must not buy one*. Yes its amazing how hevey they can get, I broke a shelf with one of mine:rotfl: I have many, I have one for my 1p/2p (camper van) nearly full but I am still shoving them in. One for 5ps (tin with a cow on) this is taking an age to fill, I guess it will hold about £70 as when I opened one last year it was 1/2 full and had £30 in it. I then have my terr for £1 and £2. And finally my hand painted pig for any weekly challenge money thats left over and doesnt fit the above pots. I then have a mini mini pig that I have for decoration only. The only prob I have is I am always browsing ebay for more  I am after a mechanical one or one of the halifax ones :rotfl:
I love my little pots, I know some people thing its silly as its not earning interest but imagine going to the bank just to deposit 20p :rotfl:0 -

Nothing is happening as such (although would like to go on a fab holiday somewhere next year), just set a little target of a year later to see how much savings i could get. Also it'll go towards, dare i say it, a house deposit for my first property which ideally would happen in 3 years or so. That way hopefully i'd have a nice little amount tucked away.

Ahh simaler goals to me then (except the 3 year thing :rotfl:) its always nice to save anyways for a rainy day:rotfl:At the shelf breakage, can't believe that happened hehe, what you like. Wow that's a lot of pots you have there!!! Although if it helps you save more than the more the merrier

It was like slow motion, I put in about 30, 2p coins into my camper van and the last but two I heard this creak and I just shruged it off. When the last 2p when it the whole shelf gave way (its a cheapie argos book shelf with those little metal things holding the shelf on iyswim). As luck would have it the bank didnt smash and my mums oh fixed my shelf but I now watch how many is going into the box :rotfl:Exactly, just what i think too. Toatally agree, Although I have this new thing now where I scrap my bank account and send it all to my halifax accounts as I dont mind my savings accounts being odd its when my current accounts are  :rotfl:the mad world of pap's accounts :rotfl:0 -

How long are you aiming for?
I'm also looking for a new job, like the flexibility in where i'm working at the moment but i need a new challenge as it's starting to bore me now (been there five years this year), oh and a higher salary would be good too.

Oh for a house well about 5 years for a 10% deposit, however saying that the houseing market may be different in a few years time. Ohhh really, where are you looking to move to? In the same line of work where you are now and just a diferent employer?0 -

Sounds good to me hun. Ideally it would be in 3 years or so, but who knows what will happen, that's just a estimation for me. As long as i'm saving each month though at least i'm working towards something.
I'm looking to move to a new employer, similar role to what i'm doing now but probably with a few more responsibilities and something a little more challenging. Won't just apply for anything and everything though, shall take time looking over the applications etc and weigh up the pros and cons first.0 -
Hi Pap, have had a few MSE free days so this is a slightly delayed response but it makes me so mad that where I live I have been referred to a special PCOS clinic at my hospital run by gyne and endocrine specialists and they're keeping track of things - well went to endocrinology first who did loads of tests and stuff (although I was diagnosed years ago). I'm on metformin and am currently trying vaniqua cream but I can't use it on broken skin so not a huge help at the moment as under chin spots are bad. I find a wilkinson sword razor, the one with the block of shaving cream around it, does the trick for me.
I've lost over 20kgs since my weight 'peak' when I was first referred to the endo's (and probably have another 15 to loose before I'm at an ideal weight) , my periods have gone from haywire to completely regular and whilst I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone for me it's done so much.
I still have the bad days, I need chocolate days and my symptoms are by no way gone (especially hair problems) but I wish your doctors would give you a chance too!
Anyway rant over and do try and verity boards - I posted quite a lot years ago and now go over and read threads from time to time so if you want some specific advise I really would post on there.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
