I find raising money next to impossible. I've been touched by cancer soooo much and am trying to raise money for it. Alas, everyone is tight up North. We watch our pennies! So I'm struggling. My target was only £100 and so far I've raised £35! Thats it!!

Just got back from the hospice and had some lunch.
It's a very, very lovely place and when they renovated it a couple of years back, there must have been a staggering amount of thought put into what went where and why. I don't want to bore you with it but it genuinely is a stunning place, one that I'd like to visit again but not under the circumstances that it was designed for. They need £3 million a year to help it run as it does now and it will be an honour to raise some money for it.
I must admit that when we went into the room where the children who have passed away lie to be said "goodbye" to, I nearly cried. I was just glad that the fundraiser didn't ask me any questions at that point...0 -
Awww bless you Chip!

Things like that always get to me to. But at least you can say you are helping and making their stay in hospital that little bit better.
So :T :T to you!
And yet another reason to enjoy life and make the most out of it.

Awww shucks, thanks.
I'm afraid that this morning will be one of those times I will never forget. Melodramatic? Maybe but the thought that anything could ever happen to the children is something that I can't think about. It would be truly horrendous and I have no idea how parents cope.0 -

I don't have kids and I still wonder that.
One of the teacher my Mum works with is going through it at the moment. His baby son has just had to have open heart surgery (he's only about 4 months old) Scary things for them is their 1st son was still born, so they already know what it is like and they are trying to stay strong for their older boy. Not a situation you would wish on anyone! His wife is a nurse as well which I imagine isn't pleasant as she understands everything they are doing!
I guess we all just need to be thankful for what we do have. And I don't think it's melodramatic, just shows that you are sensitive, which isn't a bad thing in my mind.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
