Good start to the new life today....:D
I ate reasonably well today clocking up around 1,750 calories and not really feeling hungry. Got on the bike tonight for twenty minutes and rode precisely 2.62 miles which is painfully slow, I'd be hoping to get that up pretty sharpish....
Sent an email to a potential customer this morning. I work for their competitor Home Delivery at present for four months per year and make decent money in those months. I contacted them to see if I could work for them as well which would be great as it would almost double my income in theory. The sales manager will let me know. Also, the job I did for my new customer two weeks ago? The company sent a cheque today but made it payable to the company and not me personally. I don't have a business account so cheques have to be made to my name.
Personal finance wise, I typed a letter to each of four creditors re-arranging my payments to take into account June being a quiet month. I also sold my smart mobile on E-bay for £36.00. Actually sold the phone yesterday but then had an email from the buyer who was in Nigeria and wanted me to give the shipping number over before they sent the money... . Ended up offering it to the first unsuccessful bidder, she bought it and I sent it this arvo. Spent a tenner on petrol ( ten Clubcard points ), £2.29 on envelopes in WH Smiths and £1.94 on posting the phone.
I'm pleased with today, tomorrow is another day though. I need to take just one day at a time and take it steady too.:o0 -
First chance to really sit down this morning...
Did the morning post run at 7.30am then picked the boys up and took them to school. Back home for a quick coffee then down to Tesco's for the weekly shop. Pared everything back this week as next money not due in until Monday so only spent £13.22. Managed to get £3.26 knocked off this with a Coinstar voucher ( yes, very short this week ) so only £9.96 ( earned Clubcard points too ). First money into the virtual account for multi-buy savings of £1.60 so that's off and running as well. Popped into Halifax to deposit a tenner into my account and off we go.:D
Also spent a tenner on petroleum spirit ( ten Clubcard points ) as well.0 -
Just got off the exercise bike, hence why I'm walking funnily.:D Managed 2.83 miles tonight in my twenty minutes, that's 0.21 miles further than last night but still too slow. Still, I'm improving.:D . Currently munched through 1,930 calories today too.
Quiet day again really. Picked the boys up from school, went to football training, got home and bathed them now I'm off for a shower myself....0 -
Almost a no-spend day today. Managed to get to about ten minutes ago before having to give in and buy a loaf of bread.... . I tried working out how the last four slices of bread could be shared between three of us for toast tomorrow morning and sandwiches tomorrow lunchtime but I couldn't do it...:D
DS2 had a birthday party from 12-2 at his girl friends house so had DS3 on his own for a couple of hours which felt strange. Next week its reversed with DS3 having a party while DS2 stays with Daddy....:D
Having an early night tonight as we have to be up, washed and dressed by 8.00am as it's summer football tournament no.3 in Bath tomorrow. I also have to make some lunch as it'll be early afternoon before we finish.
Had my session on the exercise bike at 4.15pm today and managed 2.72 miles, in between yesterday's distance and the day before.0 -
Forgot to mention that I picked up a 28" Tatung colour television with Nicam stereo for free of the Trade-it website yesterday... :j :j
I need a TV for upstairs but my ex-wife has greater need of a decent sized telly than I so down to Dorset on Thursday it will go....:D . Works perfectly too, it was one of the most fantastic bargains I've had from the free ad websites...:T0 -
Had another bright, sunny and low-spending day today.:j I've only spent £2.00 so far today and that was for admission, parking and a programme at this morning's football tournament. Speaking of which football-wise, it wasn't very good. The team we sent were mainly fringe players but we still expected to do better than losing six out of seven matches and drawing the other one...
Having a meeting at the local pub tonight to discuss the next four tournaments and staying in there for the quiz. This should cost about £2.50 for a pint of diet coke and a quid for the quiz.:A0 -
Stuck to the diet coke last night instead of my normal tipple of cider :A , it was actually a nice change and very refreshing if a little gassy! Bought a drink for my friend Dean who came along ( he reciprocated ) and the quiz was a pound entry fee so spent £5.40 yesterday.
This morning, have done the morning post run and got £20.00 of petrol while out ( Tesco, 20 Clubcard points ) and off for a shower now. I'm off to the Children's Hospice between Bristol and Weston for a guided tour this lunchtime as I'm doing a charity event for them in November and they've kindly invited me for a look around.0 -
Sounds like you are doing really well!
What Charity event are you doing? And yep d coke very gassy!!
I'm struggling to get petrol, my local garage has run out, so I need to nip out of work at some point today and find some otherwise I am getting the bus tomorrow. :eek:Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I'm going to visit every one of the 92 Football League and Premiership football clubs collecting shirts, footballs and other stuff. Then when I get back, I'm going to stick them all on E-bay's auction site and sell them, the money then directly goes to charity.:D
I did this in November 1998 for Macmillan Cancer Relief and raised £4,750 ( actually half of that but the company I worked for at the time had a corporate partnership with MCR ). It took me sixteen days last time but I'll be doing it in eleven this time which will require military precision planning.:j
I have to get a car sorted, my fuel costs covered, 11/12 nights accommodation organised, the merchandise ordered, the clubs need to be notified what days I'll be there, press and PR along the way, it's quite a feat. It'll be a pleasure to start it as that's the easy bit, driving 3,000 miles in eleven days.
Bet you wish you hadn't asked now...:p0 -
That sounds interesting. I don't do football, but raising money for charity is always something to be proud of!
Sounds like you raise loads of cash to.
I would like to do something like walk the great wall of china for charity or something, but find raising that amount of money daunting!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
