Bovril x 2 = £2.00
Sausage rolls x 3 = £4.50 ( one for each of us before anyone even thinks that.... )
Programme - £2.50
Taxi fare - £5.00
That's it really. No petrol needed as went by train so no car park fees either. Got soaked three times today... . Off to bed now.:rolleyes:0 -
Quite a low-spend day today. Coughed up £4.00 for DS2 and DS3's football match and £2.64 for a pint of Strongbow afterwards. Popped into the local Tesco's on the way home and spent £2.74 on shopping too....
Had a bit of a shock tonight. A mate of mine, who I only saw at the football yesterday, was found dead in his house today.  I'm guessing something very amiss has happened as he was younger than me, probably around 35-ish. I wasn't close to him but he was a mate going back 15/20 years and what spooks me is that I saw him around 2.00pm yesterday at the match.... :eek:0 -

Oh dear I am sorry Chip.
I had a friend who committed suicide last year. I saw her only the day before and didn't know she was depressed.
She had just recently got married and had a child too, it's so sad as her husband is still off work and is a single parent family now.
Hope you are ok though and drop by if you need a chat.

Hi Binnie and thanks for your kind words.
Nobody knows how he died just yet but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about suicide. He was 31/32 and quite fit so nothing could be ruled out really. Might know more this week as I'd assume there would be a post-mortem / inquest today.0 -
Hey sweetie.
Sorry to hear about your friend, even if you're not close, when something happens to someone you know either in your age bracket/area/circle of friends, it seems impossible to comprehend. Especially since you had only seen him the day before.
Hope you're alright?
Re the rail card? How do you manage to share one? Does it not have a photograph on it?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Aww chip, sorry to hear about your friend.
Its awful when things like that happen. We've had it happen quite a lot round here actually. One was suicide but the other 3 were random things like heart conditions etc that nobody knew existed!
Quite scary really!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%
