Awwww hun... sounds a bit wrong i must admit.
My daughter is 7, and i'll admit to letting her sort herself out a snack and some telly time for an extra hour in my bed on a saturday or sunday but not getting themselves up and out on a school day. That's not on is it?
Maybe she needs to know that they called you, make out as though you were checking on her that she was okay... but that way she will know that you know.... subtle like.
Not a school day, Maz, it was an inset day today.
I'm more frightened that they're in a new house, new village on a busy road and with her p****d up upstairs. Sorry but that is wrong.
What you do isn't wrong because you're compos mentis at all times but, ah, sod it, I give up.0 -
Thats not good at all Chip
Is she aware that they have called you ?
I think she needs a reality checkBSC MEMBER 319 - AD 22ND JULY 20110 -
Yes she was, BB, and she said she was going to stop them ringing me because they'd been "telling tales"....
I'm off to bed. I'm a moany old git tonight anyway. Been up since 4am as I had a bad dream last night, done morning and evening post runs, delivered over 100 catalogues, off to football tonight then skittles after that, getting back about 20 minutes ago.
See you in the morning.0 -
Expensive day yesterday I'm afraid, not all of it completely necessary...
Bought lunch out £2.11; at football last night it was £2.00 to get in plus £2.40 for a pasty and £3.00 for two bovrils then at skittles £1.00 to play plus £2.40 for my solitary pint.
I've set a challenge for April to get my housekeeping budget under £100. This will inclde any lunches I eat out plus any other stuff like the Bovril, coffees etc. This will focus me more, I kno, because it's the amount I told the CCCS lady was my housekeeping amount. I had no idea really how much it was but it's obvious that with 3/4 of those big ham salad baps I buy each week, that in itself costs £30 - £35 a month alone before I've even got to the supermarket...:eek:0 -

Who says i would be compus mentis (sp) on any given day sweetie!!!! Not drunk admittedly (seldom ever!) but never wholly "with it"!!!
Sorry you're feeling things tough at the moment. You're such a lovely guy that it sucks that you don't get the happiness you deserve all the time.
Re the budget, £100 is not much to give yourself for groceries let alone the extra stuff like bovrils etc.... maybe need to rethink that figure hun. Especially when you are feeding 2 kids 2/3 days a week.
Tell me to mind my own if you like, but maybe you need to reduce your maintainence figure to reflect the fact that you have them so often. Divide the figure by 7 days and multiply that to give you what you should keep back to feed them on the days you have them.......... that said, you know that the only ones that will feel the pinch at home might be the kids so stick with the status quo!
Have a hug, i think you need it!!! :grouphug:I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Thanks for that, Maz.
Decided not to buy lunch out today. Popped to Somerfields in between catalogues this morning and spent a fiver on some corned beef, bread, butter and milk so lunch will be cheaper this week. Should get four days out of that corned beef making lunch a snip and much less than normal.
I've made more sensible decisions about money in the past month than in the last few years put together, bit chuffed really. I'll still falter now and again but the plans I'm putting together, I'm working hard at and they're coming to fruition. For example, I planned to get the 375 catalogues done by tonight and even though I had the boys from 1.30pm - 7.30pm on Monday, I still managed to do it by working hard elsewhere. My time management is improving too.0 -
Hey Chip - just wanted to say you're doing amazingly well so far and i'm loving nosying in on your thread! You sound an amazing Dad! Have a lovely week! x0

Thanks bobbadog, nice words.......:happyhear
Good day today. Got the final lot of phase one catalogues out, did the morning and evening post runs and even got over to collect phase two's envelopes, all 2,006 of them....    . Had two small JP's with cheese for tea; that's jacket potatoes, not judges by the way...:D
Boys have just rung up, only 36 hours till I see them again. They love trains, they love football and they love weekends so guess what. On Saturday, we're going down to the football on the train for a change. I went halves on a railcard with a friend of mine who has a little 'un and the fare savings will pay for the railcard from this first trip alone...:T
Oh, and lost two more pounds this week. The catalogue delivering always helps me shed weight so might hit target yet with luck.
Have a good evening everybody...:beer:0 -
Reasonable day today.
Did the football programme run for the 21st time this season, only two more to go now before I pack it in. This will save me around £400 a year and next year, I can do most of the work via PDF's emailed to me....
Bought the doughnuts / biscuits today which set me back £1.98 and bought some lunch on the way back, £1 something. Bought two ready mealsfor £3.00 in Tesco's tonight, other than that, a no spend day...:rotfl:
As I type, just another thirteen hours till I collect the boys and take them to school....:j , then afterwards, off to pick up another 1,000 catalogues to deliver next week. I've decided to pick the whole lot up and store them in my lean-to and take them from home instead, should save some petrol costs as I can organise the run more easily. I collected 500 today and there's another 1,506 to go...:eek:0 -
Blimey, nice to put my feet up for five minutes...:D
Did the morning post run then picked the boys up and took them to school. Straight home, changed, then two trips over to the Home Delivery warehouse and collected 1,000 catalogues and stacked them in my lean-to...:D . Just another van load on Monday. Typically, the other side of my business is taking off now too. I have to take a costume to Chester on Tuesday ( my friend is lending me his diesel car as it's cheaper on fuel ) and take a computer to London on Thursday. I am off to a supporters reps meeting on Thursday night so will combine the two and save around 45 miles travelling time and a good £6 on fuel.
I wish I felt this organised and up-for-it all the time, maybe I wouldn't have got into debt in the first place. The feeling you get when you do start winning the battle is fantastic.:D
No doubt I'll be a bit more miserable tomorrow. Yeovil v Bristol Rovers and we're going down by train. Sure I mentioned it elsewhere but my friend Frazer and I went halves on a family railcard ( £12 each )and saved £25 on this fare compared with the normal prices...:j :j .
Have a nice day readers...0
