Nobody knows how he died just yet but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about suicide. He was 31/32 and quite fit so nothing could be ruled out really. Might know more this week as I'd assume there would be a post-mortem / inquest today.
One of mum and dads friends died suddenly too...never drank or smoked always at the gym...total shock for everyone who knew him...turned out he had an undiagnosed heart condition.
There will indeed be a post mortem.:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
Busy old day today.
Morning post run, back for breakfast then off to collect the last 506 catalogues to store at home. Went into town at lunchtime to pick up a roll ( well, it's been a while since I had one ) and popped into the Halifax to pick up some account application forms to open the boys bank accounts. I also looked into Specsavers as I need some info on sports glasses. They wear normal glasses to play football for the team but they tend to slip down their nose. The club have offered to meet half the cost of the specs as there are five kids who wear them. Thought being that if they all start wearing these sports ones at the same time, they might not be as self-conscious.:o
Friend came round for a coffee and lent me his car for tomorrow's trip to Chester as his diesel car is more economical than my petrol car. He's also paying premium on it as he collected the package while down in Devon on pleasure...:D
Evening post run tonight and attacked all my paperwork getting it up to date. Had a call from DS2 and DS3, I say DS2 but he cried all the time and wouldn't speak to me. Turns out he was upset at being chased by his next door's dog....
Todays spend. £2.27 on lunch, £7.75 in Tesco's on shopping and £12.00 on diesel for the van. The April housekeeping challenge / petrol challenge starts tomorrow so will be looking to get my teeth into it big time.0 -
Hi all,
Went to Chester today and spent £3.20 in Gowy services on the way back on a toasted sausage and egg sandwich with a capuccino. Its almost a tradition that when I do that trip, I always stop for the same brunch every time as it's a good 170 miles from my house. Got back after the 340-mile round trip and reversed my friend's car straight into my driveway gate...  . Damaged the passenger door and the wing mirror.
Sorted out 190 catalogues for delivery on Friday and as the van isn't available tomorrow, I'll be sorting out the remaining 1,810 into batches ready to go.
Off to skittles tonight so that'll be a pint of cider and £1.00 subs. I've spent £4.40 in Tesco's tonight which included bread, milk and football stickers.
Three of my challenges started today, you can follow them in my signature down there vvvvvvvvvvvvvv0 -
Ohhhhh the sandwich sounds delish, I can't be bothered cooking for one now hubbie is in Spain.
I've been living off Midget Gems and Peanuts, ha ha.
Whoops about the friends car, do you have to pay for repairs?
You don't half do some mileage , you work very hard.
Well done on the weight loss too, wish I could lose weight and have some willpower.
Night xxx0 -
The sandwich was yummy but for DFW and weight loss reasons, I couldn't have one every day!! :A
Skittles last night - £2.64 on a pint and £1.10 subs.
Binnie - not sure I could call myself hard-working. The courier world is feast or famine. Generally, each week I start off with just an hours work five mornings a week and two hours work three evenings per week so that's only 11 hours. It pays quite well though. The catalogues are only for four months a year and my solicitor customer averages out at a job every two weeks!
I enjoy it though as it gives me time to spend with my children.0 -
Morning, just got up, lazy old me :rotfl:
I'm having lots of me time and trying to relax and chill out. But to be honest it is a bit boring being on your own and nothing much to do.
I've cleaned the house too many times, and I've even invited the Mother in Law round tonight for company :rotfl: . No she is sweet really, just joking.
Chip it does sound like you have a busy life, so maybe it sounds like you work hard too. I'm sure you do.
Probably a no spend day for me too as I'm not going anywhere.
I've been in the house for days now, so not spent much at all. To be honest I don't know if I could be at home all the time, it's a lonely life here with only a laptop to talk to.
Can't wait to see hubbie on Saturday
Bye for now0 -
Had a long list to do and achieved most of it.
Set out to do morning post run but had to detour to the school afterwards to pick up the boys training stuff. Got waylaid by a friend with a coffee and he offered me a newish three piece for nowt but the foam on one of the cushions was dodgy so turned it down.
Managed to hoover the car out and sort out around 800 of the envelopes before picking the boys up from school. Took them to training tonight and then home afterwards.
Spent £3.00 on their training fees and £2.27 on lunch plus £17.00 on petrol earlier. Tomorrow will be a long day, start work at 7.00am and won't get home till gone 9.00pm as I have a trip to London ( one-way ) and a supporters reps meeting in Yeovil at 6.15pm.0 -
Long old day yesterday; so long that I didn't have the energy to post last night...
Did the morning post then nipped around Tesco's in the quiet time to do the week's shopping ( £29.61 ). Little over budget but there was some monthly stuff in that lot. Fuelled up ( £40.00, 40 Clubcard points ), home, showered then went to London with a server for my customer. Quick journey up so came back via my oldest two's house in Dorset for a coffee. Got to the meeting in Yeovil, meeting was a good 'un hence its finishing time of 8.45pm. Finally got home just after 10.15pm..
Not much planned for today really, just taking it steady. Taking the boys to school, picking them up later and catalogue envelope sorting is the order of the day plus a trip to the post office.
Diet went up the creak last night. I'd made a packed lunch to go to London with but got hungry on the way home yesterday and bought some chocolate and crisps... , total price £1.90.0 -
Quieter day today, thank goodness. Did the morning post run, took the boys to school then took down yesterday's return delivery to the solicitor. Spot of extra shopping this afternoon, picked the boys up again, off to football training this evening, bathed them and they're off to bed now.:D
Spent £4.08 on shopping, £2.84 on postage and £2.10 on football stickers... . I think my housekeeping budget may be a bit optimistic, I'm nearly halfway there inside five days.:eek:0 -
