OMG i have just seen the choc crispie picture! They look fab! Well done angelnikki!
We have a thing for choc crispies at the moment after finding a V V tasty recipie. I made some for a training course i was delivering and the staff were fighting over them! I saw a few collegues in a very different light LOL
Here is my recipe;
55g butter
4 TBSP golden syrup
100g milk choc
70g cornflakes
melt butter, syrup & choc in a bowl over pan of hot water. When melted add cornflakes and put in bun cases to set. They are very yummy!

just came back from doing a little shop..all i can say is i am soooo lucky there was a happy scanner..( which i haved used before ) when i seen them when i entered the supermarket, i thought i would take the gamble and go over my budget of £10 so bought the dog food and milk, bread was reduced so bought 6 loafs carrots reduced and parsnips... also bought some car dor ice cream on bogof... my shopping came to £17. odd after using moc i still have £5 left until thursday... so it must be my lucky day ....

I've got slightly over £20 to last until pay day - 25th. I won't need much though. I just need to do some baking this week so that there's something for lunch boxes for the next 4 days. Snacks are out next month so our total spend should be much less (fingers crossed)0

Hi everyone
I did roast pork n stuffing for lunch and 4 1/2hrs later im still feeling fullso i think much later i will either have a slice of my raisin n coconut bread from this morning
or more than likely a SF jelly with peaches in and a dollop of cherry yoghurt
Hubby has decided that he is having one of my bargain whoopsied fresh WW pizzas.... so that has saved me bothering :T mind, at the moment he is chomping the breadsticks i made on Friday..he loves them
I have managed to turn my store cupboard scribbled list into a sensible list on the PC :T -can't believe what is on there:p ... i won't bore you all with the list :rotfl:
mummygems.... here is a Stollen recipe that can be done in the bread machine (it makes 2 loaves so you can easily half it -just in case you don't like it ).. but i do it by hand- 1 cup or 240ml warm milk
- 3tbs honey
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2tsp salt
- zest of 1 lemon
- 5tbs soft butter
- 1/2tsp ground mixed spice
- 3 cups or 360g white bread flour
- 1 1/2 tsp yeast -I use 20g fresh yeast
- 25g currants
- 50g sultanas
- 50g raisins
- 25g mixed peel
- 25g glace cherries -washed, dried and chopped
- 25g blanched almonds -chopped
- 300g marzipan
- place 1st 9 items in bread pan and set to "dough"
- 5mins from end of cycle open lid and add items 10-15 and allow to finish cycle
- transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for 1-2 mins
- divide mixture in 2 and roll out to oblongs approx 11" x 7"
- half the marzipan and roll into sausages just shorter than the length of the dough
- place on the dough and fold over and pinch the dough to seal
- place seam down on a lightly greased n floured tray
- cover with a split carrier bag and allow to rise until almost doubled in size
- place in a pre-heated oven -200c/400f/gas 6 for 20-25 mins or until golden and hollow sounding when knocked on the bottom
- transfer to a cooling rack
and of course you can adjust the fruits to suit what you have or what you like... i like more cherries in
I have frozen it too... the marzipan goes a little sticky..but its still really nice.
Let me know if any of my ramblings don't make sense and i will try and be a bit clearer.... :rotfl:

Whats everyone having for tea tonight??
Incredibly hungry after a long walk today so I've already had mine - wholewheat spaghetti in a very simple spinach, garlic, butter and parmesan 'sauce' - overdid it on the garlic but I won't be in contact with any other human beings until tomorrow so it shouldn't matterFollowed by tinned pineapple and mandarins mixed together..yum

Paying off debt bit by bit0 -
That was so wicked :rotfl::Tto post a pic of the choccie crispy thingies: I want to make some now, but got stock of millionaire's shortbread and biscuits, so perhaps tomorrow! They look smashing.
Spent another £9 on emergency supplies in the only shop open round us at the mo: Tesco garage shop, which was a bit annoying as so expensive. Ran out of dishwasher tablets, and tried as a stopgap soda crystals and washing up liquid, but didn't really work. Ho hum.
Roast tonight. Yum.
Love reading all your updates, everyone. And welcome to newbies even newer then me. This is such a great thread and it's really helping to keep me on track.

Forgot to mention: panic earlier because one of the paddles of my lovely BM snapped and jammed on (shows how much use it's getting - has that ever happened to anybody else?).
Anyway, while I was getting very upset, DH calmly found spare paddles, took it apart, removed the broken bit and put it all back together again. :j I didn't know they came with spare paddles, so it must happen to them. He then, for the first time ever, put some flour etc in to make a loaf. But he misread the recipe. He put 3 cups water and 3 cups of flour. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Bless him.
I am trying to remedy it now - I so don't want his loaf to fail. However, not sure we need multiple loaves...

Spent another €62.01 to-day, bringing total spend to €286.46...leaving me just €63.54 to last until the end of March...should need very little beyond fruit and veg, milk and some kind of roast for Easter Sunday...still it is only € 4.24 a day so will need to watch each cent to make it
Dinner to-day was the rest of the ham, with mash, spinach, turnip with the last of a butternut squash and a little chopped onion mashed in, celery and jelly with yogurt and some frozen fruit I found when emptying the freezer....realised that I need a new fridge freezer as old one is using about 40c worth of electricity per hour so would be very un-MSE to keep it much longer...have turned it off so we will see how we go
