Morning all,
(((hugs))) to all those who need one, esp smoky, redruby, crazychik, Hilstep, mrs mix, Pen-Pin and mr tru's grandad.
Had a great night's sleep last night and feel much better for it. Off to job No 2 today.
Boss 2's wife had a mastectomy last week so I'm not sure what I will greet me today. They were both in a state of shock when I was there last week. She is really having a tough time at the moment but is lucky in that she has lots of support.
Have defrosted some spag bol sauce from the freezer so tonight's dinner is taken care of. Lunch will be a chicken salad followed by a fruit salad.
Need to stop at the recycling centre on my way to w**k to drop off the exercise bike that broke on Sunday. It can't be repaired.
Have a tremendous Thursday one and all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all, just a quickie, as ive got my agency appointment at 10am, so should be having a shower and getting ready by now.
Young mums group was great yesterday, nice to catch up with every1. One of the members has had her baby, little girl, she was gorgeous, but wouldnt stop crying, so for once I wasn't broody! lol
We've decided as a group that we are going to enter the race for life, first time ive done it and probably the last, im not the running type, I'll be the one trailling behind at the back refusing to run or jog :rotfl:
First for me yesterday I went in a charity shop! T his will sound silly but ever since being a kid the way people would take the mick and the stigma about shopping in them, ive never gone in one.But yesterday the thought of finding a bargain took over!, so I had a look around some. Was really chuffed as I got some books, for myself and the kids, only 20p each  and the kids ones were brand new disney ones
Also felt good to be donating to a charity, so will be going in there more often.
Today, im off to Truro for my agency appointment, taking the OH with me as he doesn't start work till 1pm today so we are gonna go do a bit of shopping and have some lunch together, whilst we are over there.
Then this afternoon my friend is coming over and we are having a WII afternoon, should be fun
Dinner today prawn salad for me quiche and salad for kids (OH working late so he will sort out his own dinner)
Must be off
Hugs to all

Good Morning All
Well - I have today & Tomorrow off work! I have a long list of jobs to do & calls to make to get organised.
1st one being - get my wheel which is required. Ive rung around a few places (even those who PM me with advise, those companies cant help out, or too expensive) thanks anyway for your concerns! My mum has loaned me £100 towards it. So thats a relief in one aspect!
Then off to buy my DS a birthday card, 1 for 3yrs (leap year baby) and one for a 12yr old.
Hillstep - enjoy your lunch today with your dad.
janny annie - that reminds me, waxing - that must go on my list too. Must get my eye brows done! Thanks, enjoy your pampering
(((hugs))) to smoky & redruby!
scuzz - well done on getting the 2nd interview! Fingers crossed.
Aussielass - hope your feeling better soon! My cold (or what ever it was I had) took ages to go away. Im still left with a chesty cough, which hurts, ear ache's not so bad & the dizzy spells are less frequent.
Hope Mr Tru's grandad is ok!

Shame you aren't all nearer, I did my waxing course in the summer, need to do some practice clients before I start on paying clients! How OS would that be? Waxing for free!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Just back on here with a coffee, having changed the sheets and dusted and hoovered upstairs and down the stairs; the hoover is poised to do downstairs but I needed a break!
AUSSIE - hope you feel better soon. Would like your hot cross bun recipe when you've time, though!
TATTYCATH - (((hugs))) to your nephew. What a shock. My DH and both my sons are of the tall lean variety; I didn't know they would be more susceptible due to their build.
SCUZZ - you're moving in top-notch circles these days! Good luck with the interview - it sounds VERY promising!
TRU - my pond is full of frogspawn at the moment and more is being manufactured as I type. The whole pond is a heaving noisy mass of amorous frogs and I think they've sent invites out to any other frogs in the neighbourhood!
ICECUBEQUEEN - I'm so glad you've braved your first charity shop! I don't know what I would do without them, not just for clothes and shoes, but books, kitchen stuff, collectables, Christmas and birthday pressies, toys and games for the grandchildren, records, videos, CDs, DVDs, table lamps - even my breadmaker (unused and only £7!). It's good to be supporting a charity and recycling as well.
Well, I have finished my coffee so I'm off to finish the cleaning then get on with prepping for dinner (sausage casserole) and making some cakes, so see you all a bit later.

Morning everyone, hope you are all doing ok. Thinking of you Smokeybabe.
Had a lovely day with my mum yesterday who took me to John Lewis bought some bits and pieces for the baby and then took me for lunch. Mum's are fab.
Feel like I'm ready for the baby to come now as I have all my breast feeding paraphanalia......I think I'm dreading the feeding more than the birth as last time round it was so difficult, but I can't bring myself not to do it and just use a bottle.....daft I know.
Off the the midwife this morning to have my blood pressure checked as it's been on the highside. I'm taking a friend with me as I don't think sprinting round the health centre after my turbo charged child just before they take my BP helps,so she can be on toddler catching duty. I really hope it's ok as if it's is high they won't let me have a home birth, which I would really like.
Was very organised this morning and had my breadmaker going firsthing, but it has started to make a clanking noise so must go and investigate.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Hugs to those in need and get well soon to those feeling a bit iffy.
Dinner was a huge success last night - did a chicken terrine from an episode of "come dine with me"....adapted the recipe to suit.
200gms SR flour, 4 eggs, big dash of milk, give it a good mix until smooth then add 150gms of grated cheese - I used gruyere.
I used a 2lb loaf tin, greased it and lined with bacon, did a layer of chopped spring onions, a layer of the cheesy batter and then some chopped cooked chicken (I used 2 drumsticks I'd roasted earlier), repeat the layers and then fold the bacon over the top (not to tight as the mixture rises slightly)
150 degrees (cos my oven's quite fierce) for about an hour....poked a knife in to make sure the batter was cooked through and left to cool for about half and hour before turning out.
Had it cold with new potatoes and steamed veg and it was just scrummy - loads of flavour and both DD's had third helpings - the rest was sliced up and has gone in lunch boxes today......looked really impressive too with the layers of onion and chicken so a good dinner party starter me thinks.
Loads to do today so best get cracking....hope you all have a good one."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
